He wasn't mate, actually made a difference when he came on. Not his fault that O'B didn't shoot on the edge of their box, or that Doyle didn't bury the penalty of that we opened up like the red sea when Blackpool broke. Not his fault we have the worst centre back pairing I've seen at the club. And for those clamouring for Payne, Butterfield was far more effective.

I heard today; that administration is a distinct possibility and that if we take it now we loose 10pts whereas if we go down and go into admin; it would be 30 !; which happened to Luton.

It is Rhodes favourite way to get out of trouble, Edin apart he is the worst chairman in the clubs history and we have had some shockers

I believe the large point reduction would apply if we were also mathematically down this season and went into Admin. Didn't Beeston try that trick ?

Clubs have until April the 1st to go into Admin or the point deduction takes place next season

    The rumours are not correct.

The club is on course to lose £2M this year, but this shortfall is being funded by Stefan Rupp who continues to invest capital to meet the shortfall. He has invested significant funds to buy the club and continues to do so.

If we went into Admin it would be a 12 point deduction this season if we did it this week and still 12 points if we did it after 30th March and that would come into effect next season. Luton got a 30 point deduction years ago for many financial irregularities. You don’t get extra points for 3 admins as the last one was 15 years ago anyway. Not that I expect us to go into Admin, I heard today that a takeover is very much on the cards from a good source .

I tell you what @Fordy117@Fordy117, set up your own club, call it what you like then take on the likes of Wright and co which you have obviously rate, it would do City a massive favour! If you can’t see the quality in Butterfield and would prefer Wright then there is no hope for you. He nearly had a fit when Bowyer asked him to get changed. ‘What me’? ‘ I don’t play I just ponce about in training and get paid’

    Glen.
First of all, I admire you coming on here as you are currently part of the club. It is appreciated that you and Roger Owen come on here at all , is at issue with any lack information coming out of the club from the heiracy ie Either the current 100% shareholder Rupp or his de faco club Spokesman and current CEO Julian Rhodes.
The distinct lack of information coming from either of these people in the current state of the club can only fuel these rumours in our current plight.

Potential to be a Championship club? All bar ten or so of the last 50 years we’ve been in the bottom two divisions. These days Championship clubs lose on average £30m or so each every season. We’ve feck all chance of an owner wanting to lose that.

Get his money back? Championship in a few yrs?! Hilarious.

Has anyone seen the state of our club? Feels like there’s only one way we are headed. Especially with Rupp at the helm, hands on or hands off, he’s clearly one part of the massive problem this club has.

You might well be right. So all we can look forward to is endless, and ultimately meaningless, meanderings in the lower leagues. Not a very pleasant prospect. If we have no hope what have we? I sometimes wonder if before long we might see a big reordering of the football world and it might end up with franchises on the American model with no pomotion or relegation. When we get there I'm done.

I’m not sure they can give us 30. In the rules it’s 12

Blackburn lost 17 million I think it was in this league last season. It can’t carry on at that level forever though

I’d like to echo a couple of other comments already made. Hats off for taking the time and showing enough brass to come on here and provide information and answer questions.
Additional to that, though, this season is almost done. The bigger concern is regarding next season. We’re certainly going to have a vastly reduced income versus a not so vastly reduced expenditure.
Without going into detail, how concerned should we be on that note? Unless there is significant change and / or investment, the chances of rebuilding next year, or even the future of the club, must surely be at risk?

The current football funding model is broken. Realistically can any lower league club today go on a run to make the PL without an owner throwing a hundred million at it? Sheffield Utd are giving it a go but they’re not really a perennial lower league club. Reading lost £21m last season struggling at the bottom of the Championship, and as @How@How says Blackburn £17m. Clubs like these are reliant on mainly foreign investors who at some point will quit, leaving the club, its fans, community and local businesses in the shit. That’s not sustainable.
The richest Bradfordian that springs to mind is Jack Tordoff, even he isn’t rich enough to sustain losses like that.

So yes, endless meanderings in the bottom two divisions with the odd short stay in the Championship unless someone comes in and spunks a shit load of cash. Had we got promoted two years ago, Millwall lost £3.8m in their first season, find an investor for City prepared to lose 75 grand a week. Notts County are pissing that away in 92nd place.

Something needs to change because at the moment there are six clubs fighting for four CL slots, a bunch treading water in PL, anotjer bunch fighting to stay in or get promoted to the PL and the rest of the 92 clubs bumbling along with an odd day in the sun whilst mainly reliant on an idiot with more money than sense to fund it. It’s shit and not getting better.
