aye, both barrels. I just wonder if that's something the very top players don't expect to get.

Like him or loathe him he was correct about de Gea he should have done better for one of the best keepers in the world and Maguire was made to look like a carthorse with his lack of positional sense, not sure about getting them a taxi at half time.

Maguire for 85m was a mug signing buy Man UTD. Shocking business.
De Gea on 350k per week and on the decline.

Keane was right to blast them both.

Keane's standards are exceptionally high. It's why he was at the crux of the most dominant and success team in PL history. He's also brutally direct and some people wont have the personality to stand up to it. It's one thing being that demanding when you're surrounded by world class players and it makes for good, or at least entertaining punditry. But I think it's why hes also never cut it as a manager. Many top players simply cant empathise with players of lesser talent.

Most pundits may think it but would never say it. Keane just doesn't give a damn. His Utd team were one of her best in the World, the club has fallen from grace since then, his rants are so entertaining though.

There arent really any of his type any more. Whether it's because society has become softer, or whether footballers are more narcissistic, I dont know. But it shows the sort of standards demanded and why they stayed at the top for so long.

Roy Keane will be like...Told you all. He will be making Maguire and De Gea walk home from this game also.

Seriously Harry Maguire is utter shite...85m for him.
    De Gea on the slide.

Wait to you see MOTD later...The pair of them. They might go on to win this game UTD but no way they will over take City next season with them two clowns in their team.

    Greenwood is a player though.

Maguire gets stick but most of the time the catalyst for his bad moments are actually caused by Lindeloff whose positioning is shocking. Watch him in that goal. He see's the player coming in, has the advantage and gets his positioning all wrong so he once again losses out on a header to a smaller player (I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defender lose so many headers to smaller players) . Once that happens the defence is all out of position and causes issues. VVD would look a clown next to Lindeloff. It actually says a lot about how underrated Smalling really is as his reading of the game and ability to cover when Lindeloff was out of position made Lindeloff look competant

The problem with Keane is when it comes to United I do feel he is still a little bitter. As a player he had such high standards but when his body started failing him and he couldn’t compete at his own levels he struggled to accept that and he started becoming more disruptive than being an asset. It’s why Fergie ended up shipping him out. And he hasn’t come to terms with that and he does seem to take a valid point when it comes to United and then goto the extreme that he doesn’t when discussing other teams

Another great goal from the Wibsey wizard, some player there. Shame he didn’t start in our academy, could have sponged some more money.

Yes as I said start in it not finish in it, as the likes of Cleverly, Delph and Wisdom did. None were held back by being at our academy before they reached their teens. Most serious development is done once they reach puberty.

We would've sold him at under 12 level.

You say that but when you want to drill certain good attributes into a person it’s easier the younger you are. It’s the basis that La Masia is built on. It’s also why the U.K. has struggled in certain sports like Tennis for a while as kids haven’t been getting the right training pre-teen so they develop bad habits that hold them back. It’s why a lot of our better Tennis players over the last 20 years came through other countries systems

So what most is down to natural talent, he wouldn’t have been crap if he’d have stayed with us until he was around 10. Most kids at 10 who had the same training as him will have fallen out of the game from top academies across the world. You can only teach so much, you’re putting far to much emphasis on coaches at very young age groups, coaches at them age groups even at top academies aren’t exactly the cream of the crop.

I very much doubt he would have been anywhere near our club as he was on United's books at a very early age7/8 Ibelieve someone posted when I was asking around if any of my grandsons mates knew about him as he was from Wibsey.

As fragile as their defence looks, they look a threat at the other end of the field. Some of the forward and midfield play is reminiscent of Fergie's time. Been a while coming but looking good now. And Fred not starting, says it all.

The big clubs take young lads with the best physical attributes and natural ability(stating the obvious), at such you ages not because they have fantastic coaches at them ages but so when they are ripe for development they’re already at the club. As you say due to his ability Greenwood was always going to go to a bigger club, but had he somehow not been seen until around 10/11 and started in our academy I’ve no doubt he’d still be as good. And more importantly we’d be onto another nice little earner for doing next to nothing.
