    It's
what I call Harrogate. Used to work as a senior Branch Manager for a major building society and the customer in Harrogate were the most arrogant of any I'd ever come across. "look at me, look how much money I have" types.

That's not true, there are people like that in every town and city , the problem we have in harrogate is all the rich people who move here its not the born and bread people like myself .
No 2 ways about it, it is a lovely place to live but to put us all in the same bracket is ridiculous !

I know lots of people who have moved from bradford to harrogate, not met many of these arrogant people as you say .

It's absolutely true. Of all the Branches I managed, and they included Skipton and Ilkley both of which had fairly wealthy customer bases, the customers at Harrogate were by far the most up their own backsides of any of them.

Yes there were down to earth ones for sure, and plenty of them, but the customer base at that particular branch had by far the highest percentage of people who looked down on staff as insignificant and treated them as such. I couldn't wait to get out and back to one with normal customers.

TBF he does say, ‘Yes there were down to earth ones for sure, and plenty of them…”. So not ‘all’, but a significant number.

Let’s be fair @Ulysses S Grant@Ulysses S Grant they were pissed off and arrogant, because Coutt’s had turned them away! ;)

    He's still wrong!

Pretty much basing a whole town on a few clients he's dealt with, it's like me working at bradfords morrisons and saying all people from bradford are tramps because I served a few on the check out

Calm down. I've clearly said it had a higher "percentage" of those up their own arse than Ilkley or Skipton, which I found to be the case.

Had much experience of very wealthy folk and how they behave in banks and building society's have you ? Have I said anywhere that everyone who lives in Harrogate is up their own bum ?

I'm sure the vast majority are pretty much the same as all of us, but a bigger number of those I came across lacked the same level of humility than the good folk of Ilkley (though only just), Skipton, Keighley, Barnoldswick, Settle and Earby which were the other Branches I managed for the same company at various points.

Nice write up by Simon Parker in the T&A too.

I wonder if he is planning on moving I to coaching.

I suppose the throw was quicker than actually saying “get out of the fing way”.
Seriously, the lad should have been red carded for that dive.:joy:
