He's the exact opposite of what we need to get out of this division. Imagine Leigh Palin playing at this level. Get shut and replace him with an abbo clone.

 

Are both of these right. More goal bound saves and mop ups than most L2 keepers and yet also has one of the worst save percentages?

 

That would indicate our xg stats are poor in defence which they aren't.

He ain't in the top 8, and as of the end of October he had save percentage of just over 60% which is fairly poor when all said and done.

 

The second half was a gutless performance I don't know if Angol is injured but no acknowledgement to the bench straight down the tunnel, were 2 - 1 down Angol off and he brings Gilliead on whats that all about with both Robinson & Eisa on the bench.

He makes a meal out of the saves he does make ............... half the shots on the whole are catchable but he pushes them away as if they are Ronaldoesque you can tell he’s an attention seeker

 

Palin had more talent in his floppy hair than all our current squad put together

 

As of a few games ago, he was the 12th or 13th ranked keeper in the league in terms of save percentage. Similar ranked for saves made. Both were pretty much bang on the league average, but that's just O'Donnell, he's an average 4th tier keeper.

Problem is, the other lad looks just as ropey, if not worse and he's 27 in Feb, so can't exactly blame it on being an inexperienced kid. We've got two keepers not many teams in the league would want.

 

Noticed same with Vernam, manager nowhere near him as he came off, we seem to have the same old problem between management and players, no wonder we aren't getting results...

 

Any mention of injuries Vernam was holding the back of his leg another hamstring ?.

 

I'd love to see Hornby in the side but doubt it will happen. They may be much of a muchness but sometimes a change to the defence can make all the difference. RoD has had over a quarter of the season and we're struggling to keep clean sheets. Not all his fault but we're obviously lacking as a unit. We've changed every position in front of him, why not look at the keeper?

 

Hornby may or may not be any better a keeper than ROD but I think the defenders in front of him would have more confidence and a bit less to worry about should Hornby be given an extended run..

 

RoD is a poor keeper and is hard to win games when we concede so easily. Should have stopped the first one as was an easy save and had some fault for the second. Does not shout enough and warn defenders and left FCD out to dry with second. Hornby a much better option

 

Agree 100% trevor. Their first goal was a typical O'Donnell attempt at saving a 25 yarder - very very poor.
He should have saved that with ease, it was a routine goalkeeper save, no one in front of him, clear sight of the ball.
But how many has he conceded like that this season alone?
The second and winning goal could also have been easily prevented by either FCD who ballsed up completely but again, why didn't O'Donnell either give him a call or at least make an attempt to come and get the ball?
Time to give Hornby his chance, he's waited very patiently for far too long.

Hell I could go on and on about this but one thing is for sure, after not having a season ticket for many a year due to living abroad, I have been completely hoodwinked by Sparkes with his false promises and the appointment of Adams.
Won't happen again Sparksy.

 

ROD is in the same position as Gilliead. He clearly has something significant "on Adams" that keeps him in the team. He is an absolutely bang average keeper, one of the worst we have had in living memory, with the exception of Robert Zabica.
