Agreed, he’s not terrible or good enough for a promotion winning team imo. Like most of our squad he’s bang average and we need better.

ROD single hand-idly cost us a place in the playoffs this season, terrible keeper, terrible captain.

ROD getting injured was the best thing to happen to us this season, it saves us from relegation.

 

People talk some tripe on here, he’s an average league 2 keeper as his Hornby but hasn’t cost us anything. We are where we are because we have an average squad and have seen some, good, average and poor decisions by the managers we’ve had over the season. You get exactly what hat you deserve over a season in football and we deserve mediocrity, as our performances have been in the main. Some of the wins have papered over the cracks in the squad because you could argue we’re lucky to be as high as we are with the level and f performances we’re churning out.

Which of these players would we trust in league 1 if by some miracle we went up? Not many, if any. Another big overhaul is needed in the summer unfortunately.

 

If they’re performing well, we’ll probably lose them in January and ROD comes back in for another encore after January. I wonder what our 3rd choice keeper is like?

Sign one good one and if he’s any good he can become the number 2.

Have a look at the @trevor post blaming ROD for gifting them both goals yesterday by getting his angles wrong. All worked out from the single wide angle camera that is I follow.

And not a single mention about the shambolic defending for the first goal or the poor backing off for the second, its simply because ROD got his angles wrong.

It's a witch hunt pure and simple. ROD has been no worse (or no better) at his role than 6 or 7 of the starting line ups over the last few months.

 

Some of the comments about ROD are unwarranted but if you count up the number of goals he concedes from the edge of the area, you have to wonder if he does get his angles right. Remember these are youngsters or league 2 level players, who seem to bend it past him with ease from distance. They’re certainly not Messi, Ronaldo or Naymar.

 

Say what you like he is a poor keeper and his record shows that with most clubs replacing him, He is conference level and we need better, I agree about the defensive errors but that is what keepers are for and good ones earn you points and poor ones cost you them, ROD has cost us points since he was signed,
BTW despite @NorthernMonkey again putting words in my mouth I never said he "gifted" any goals but simply said he should have done better (which he should)

Easy to say he's a poor keeper when your stance is he should never concede.

Of course he will concede, He just lets goals in he should stop, He also makes some tremendous saves but on average is a poor keeper and we need better if we want to advance, All keepers concede it is part of the job, Just some more than others otherwise why would clubs spend money on better ones?
We released him and not one club came in for him until we took him back and that tells you all you need to know

Too gung ho for me. All the right physical attributes but up top hes a bit loose for me. Reminds me of a poor mans modern day Pickford.
Look at Colin Doyle, had the height but looked heavy and cumbersome but mentally was relaxed and on his game.
We need that behind a defence that needs someone to look up to not constantly doubting and having a go at like POC did again when OD didn't in his opinion come off his line quick enough.

 

He was out of work and could not get a club which tells you a lot so probably came cheap, A lazy signing by lazy people in charge at the time
