As a season ticket holder of 30+ years and one who still renewed this year, I genuinely wish he had.

SR's ownership will ultimately only bring the club a slow death, something I'm not readily willing to invest in and accept and I also suspect I'm not the only long term supporter that feels like this.

I also struggle with the idea that a banner on a plane can create such an impact, to the extent that he'd have essentially sacrificed millions of pounds. Hes a successful businessman, surely he has thicker skin than that?

Think that sums it up , I'm not unhappy that he's still onboard as I do believe Rupp being the owner and his comment with regards Rahic will give us a better chance of surviving the present situation.
As you say with regards the whole situation if he learnt little I would hope he's learnt to do his homework on potential business partners, Rahic had no money or assets only his dream of owning a football club.

How much would it cost to buy the club and ground 20 million+ ? If anyone was willing to pay that sort of price could they really be deemed a fit and proper person? I just cant see any sane person wanting to buy our club, can you?

Just cut these two sentences from your lengthier post. I guess the old adage ‘no smoke without fire comes to mind’.
Yes some of the language used on ‘social media’ was aggressive and potentially abusive. However if one stands back, and asks the question, why are so many people behaving in such a manner, then it could have resolved the issue at an earlier stage, if Rupp had intervened.
I hope that even now, that Herr Rupp has an Independent review of the clubs conduct, perhaps quarterly. That obviously would include the finances, but also include a holistic view such as team performance related, and ‘customer’ relationships.
Again another old saying, ‘belt and braces’.
Not sure if these have comparable phrases in German? ;)

In your second paragraph Dennis you state that Rupp injected cash. I don’t want to start another argument but when I stated on here last year that both Ryan Sparks and James Mason told me that Rupp was donating significant cash to the club you treated my comment with contempt and went on about no mention in companies house. Do you now recognise having read Johns excellent article that Sparks and Mason were correct?

It is a directors loan. You don't need to register a charge at Companies House for a directors loan! Only if you want to charge the loan against fixed/floating assets as security (as per external bank lending etc.). You don't charge a loan to a company where you own 100% of it...

That’s fine Eric, I’m just pointing out that when I stated that I was informed last year that Rupp was having to bale us out in November 2018 I was dismissed by Dennis as he said it wasn’t in companies house and that Rupp hadn’t parted with any money either gift or loan.

No doubt. And it was crucial to ensure the existence of the club. There was risk involved - but that risk was very much offset by the McBurnie clauses. It wasn't a donation.

At the time though there was no guarantee that McBurnie would be sold. There was only Sheffield Utd who were in for him.

True, but even leaving that aside, I don't see the Director Loan as being a purely benevolent act. If it hadn't been done, Rupp would almost certainly have lost a huge amount, because we'd inevitably been placed into admin and from there, who know.

That was the intention, but history didn't pan out that way. Mark was new to the club and with his excited ambition, ploughed the money in to give McCall a stellar budget for promotion. It was blown on Boulding x 2, McLaren, Chris Brandon and others and we tailed away. After McCall's failure, he stayed on (fan love and all that) and he then got a Julian Rhodes balanced budget. McCall failed, even more, the next season before leaving in Feb 2010 and then we had the Taylor/Jackson years. All the time with balanced budgets.

Parky arrived in August 2011 and built his success on that same balanced budget and Mark's million had long since gone.

Query for those more ITK than me. What did Dave do before us as a career? I remember him being a director but don’t remember the day job

Would it have been the Fabian Delph windfall that funded Parkinson transfers in 2012?
