Well if that's true with regards finding out on twitter I'm with you poor form, new start under Hughes and IMO as he would have been involved with those decisions he should have told them personally, and seeing how he goes about things (very professionally) I'd have my doubts that's the way it was done, she only need to read the forum I posted not long after Hughes had come in he didn't rate ROD and would be looking for a first choice in the closed season, nothing like a scorned wife,

 

I would hope if the likes of Watt, Paudie or Vernam do leave they go to a club in a higher division or I believe they might regret it if there still in league two even with a few bob more in their salaries.

I'm a bit surprised that we've gone for Hendrie but I guess that although he's not exceptional he is consistently decent. I'm also a bit surprised (but not disappointed, because he is very versatile) that Sutton has been offered a deal because he'd not got much game time towards the end of the season.

And finally, I'll be sorry to see Cooke go, we do need to freshen up our options at the business end of the pitch so it's not unexpected to see him leave but I suspect that of all the ones we're releasing, he'll have the most suitors after him.

 

Not sure where ROD lives but last Saturday after the game my granddaughter went up to McDonald's in Wibsey and took a picture of ROD asking me if he was a City player, I said yes our goalkeeper why, she said a young girl in a car had spoke to him he'd gone into his car and given her a City shirt. I believe ROD would have known he would not be getting a new deal and can't believe the club have not dealt with the release players in the correct manner.

 

He could have stayed in his job, all he had to do was come off his bloody line every now and then.....

I’d be surprised if he were a starter if he goes there, but they’re a massive club at any level so couldn’t begrudge him going there if an offer arrives and trying to fight for a first team spot. Like R O’D he’s always given 100% through a terrible period for the club.

 

Well surprise surprise, ROD didn’t say anything to substantiate what was posted on Twitter. Some will be disappointed. lol !

And on ROD he seems a lovely bloke (but sadly average keeper) and I believe when he signed his last contract mentioned buying a house in the area so hope he gets another contract not too far a commute and who knows maybe he’ll be involved with the club again in the future in a non playing capacity

 

I just looked on his Twitter to get that quote and it says he lives in the Rotherham area, I believe he came through Sheffield Wednesdays academy. Maybe a team like Chesterfield may take a punt on him.
