What a complete joke we are starting again from scratch how can people be happy letting wood go , never missed a game plus would get better and better in a good team , where’s all the money coming from to start again .if you think o Conner and Canaan are the answer at back ,they are far to slow as his Staunton

The only player I'm surprised to see on the list is Novak and out of all if them he is the only one one I would have wanted to retain but hey ho a whole new strike force to recruit. I suspect Wood wanted away anyway. Good luck to them all.

I'm very much hoping we have had in depth discussion with the new management team before we sign anyone. This needed to happen. Would like to see Evans moved on too tbh he's looked disillusioned and if he doesn't want to be here he needs to move on.

One keeper imho. The other will only develop, the other will just get older?

So Connor Shanks wasn't fancied then?

I can't really remember him, but I thought the whole crop of youngsters would have stayed.

Not complaining, I just didn't expect any of the younger players to get cut.

Well if he wasnt deemed good enough whats the point in simply keeping him because he is young?

Staunton, Sikora, Cousin and Scales still with us.

Yes a couple more graduates be nice. Havent we got a half decent striker in the youth team? Saw someone mention him. No doubt will end up like Forrest, Webb-Foster,Brown but its nice to dream

You could be right. He is young and has done ok, but there will come a dip in form that could turn into a tailspin. You only have to look at the mistakes De Gea made over a couple of season to see even the best struggle. A stronger keeper than ROD needs to be brought in, and if / when he gets his chance, he’ll take it as Hornsby did, but will be an upgrade to the defence and not a weak link.

He wouldn't have been costing much in wages and was still young enough to have a big leap forward as a player. Keeping youngsters around at least until 21 maybe even to 23 IMHO makes sense at this level even if it means loaning them out because some do suddenly just kick on and its the cheap risk that could provide not only a useful player but a nice windfall that helps secure the clubs financial future

Why keep a player if he clearly isn't good enough for the first team? What is the point? How many times has the club got it wrong releasing talent? I can think of Jake Wright and Donaldson who went on to have fairly decent careers. The rest we have brought through or released have either moved on very early or done absolutely nothing of any note.

Aren't you utterly fed up of mediocrity???

We have Scales and maybe another couple that are about to graduate.

This appears to happen at every level though, with keepers either being good at shot stopping or good at commanding their box. When you get one who can do both pretty well they invariably move on to a higher level, thinking Schwarzer.

In League Two I reckon we are probably going to have to pick one who is decent at one area and for me that would be commanding their box, I just think this offers more to our defense rather than someone who makes worldy saves but drops clanger after clanger from crosses - that being said, if we unearth another Pickford I'm not going to complain.

The only issue I had with Hornby, but seems to have been worked on, is the rushing out. I can think of a couple of games where he gave me palpitations. Other than that he’s pretty solid and is someone who can improve with us, whereas ROD as probably is good as he’s going to get.

    That's a really bad take.

Fair play for not being embarrassed to share it, that takes balls.

I know we didn’t and I agree, my point was that Pickford was an excellent shotstopper but extremely suspect on crosses (and still is).. yet he’s not done too badly.

Please don’t tell me you are suggesting RoD is a good keeper for L2?
