Cheers Rod. Already booked the Porthminster Kitchen which I think is the indoor bit. Looks pretty good. Also the Porthmeor Cafe and a place called One Fish Street but still got a couple of slots to fill!

The White Swan's due a visit but, alas, no accommodation so I couldn't include it in this list.

Think we're at the Shibden Mill Inn over that weekend, too.

 

We went to York during the first break of lockdown and made a sizeable error in not going to Roots. Ended up somewhere Wetherspoons-esque, instead. My fault, too.

The Goring, very nice! Will have a look on Travelzoo mi'sen.

 

How was The Moorcock then?

 

Are they still doing the tasting menu as well?

 

Yes, we stayed at Shibden Mill Inn for our wedding anniversary weekend in October 2019 and also did some walking around there. It was very good and we would certainly go back. I don't think the food is quite on a par with the Moorcock but not many places are, in my experience.

 

We were at the Shibden Mill Inn last week and it's no surprise to see both of these spots on the Top 50 Gastropubs list. Although, like any list, it can be taken with a pinch of salt, it's not bad company to be in considering who else is on there.

In fact you may have just persuaded me to get booked back in at the Moorcock (I was looking at a local overnighter at Holdsworth House).

Funnily enough we've only ever had the tasting menu which I think they've knocked on the head for now, so I'll look for'ad to getting amongst that blackboard.
