From the English Riviera to a mile down from Tong School, seems a strange logic.

I had a peri-peri fish burger today, with chips, chilli sauce and can of mango pop. Probably the last thing I'd normally ever eat. It was from Rajas on Duckworth Lane. It was b.l.a.h. The place was packed, I could hardly finish it, I still feel full/shit now, 9 hours later.

It cost £2.50 which says a lot about a lot of things in Bradford.................

Other half and I went to Bistro Pierre (in the Crescent Hotel, Ilkley) a few nights back. Decent stuff - nothing spectacular but good value, mid-priced grub. Both had seafood starters, she had sea bass main and I had duck plus a creme brulee pudding. Came to £70 ish including wine. I'd happily go back.

Stayed at the Crescent a few weeks ago & breakfast in BP was better than many hotels. A "good" chain, perhaps?

Stopped in crescent as mentioned and they do breakfast in bistro. Nice food.

They do an early bird on an evening, or used to

never eaten at a Raja's and never will, the cheapness of the place put me off as soon as I saw the prices.
£2.50 for a meal and a can of pop is bound to be rubbish.

Hi Guys. Unfortunately I have one to avoid. We went on Saturday night to Arnolds in Leeds. I didn't even know it existed until last week, but it's run and managed by Steve, ex of Pool Court and Brasserie 44, and a stalwart of the Leeds restaurant scene, so I was expecting a lot. I should have done more homework, although the tripadvisor reviews were very good. Anyway it felt like a soulless hotel restaurant, which in effect it was, attached to the Ibis Styles. Our first table was open to the hotel reception, but fortunately there were plenty more to choose from. The menu was short but very safe and boring, with no specials on offer. To be fair 3 of our 4 courses were very well executed if a little uninspiring. The fishcakes were bland and tasteless. Wine was excellent. Service was very good until the end. The bill was brought to us by a young waitress who we hadn't seen at all during the night. She also brought the card machine. After paying we waited a little while so I could offer my feedback but got fed up of waiting and left without so much as a goodbye or thank you from the staff. Very strange night indeed

So to make up for the above we went to the Agora in Horsforth. Much better vibe and atmosphere - and it was a Monday night. Half the price too!

But it's only a 70p less than the Love Food panini! But yes, you are right, it was really bad, cheap and unhealthy food on a 250m stretch where I could have bought similar from 20+ outlets. Bradford is Fatsoville.

Sweet Centre. Not been for a very long time, hasn't changed much at all, if at all. I wasn't expecting much to be honest but the food was very nice, really good chapati. Good chicken pakora to start and chicken dopiaza was lovely. Think it was about £11.
