I've had some good news on the job front recently mate, so my own situation should improve provided things re-open at some point in july. The chain that owns where i work has bought a beer gardeny situation venue to run over the summer to keep us in regular work and stop the other place going under by keeping some sort of money coming in.

Never mind a refund I think we should thank the club for sparing us 5 more games of mind numbing dross.

Just offer a refund. If you take it, get your money back; if you don't, that's that.

Offering a refund AND offering a discount off next season's ticket means the club are losing the money either way for games they weren't allowed to play.

    I don't want a refund or a discount.

I just want to get on with next season ASAP, and I want to attend.

Here I will help you out.

    Dear Ryan

I am a successful businessman with lots of ideas how the club can be better run. But you will have to pay me to hear what they are.

I have a raft of concerns about the club right now, communications included. I need to hear from you or Julian or Stefan with financial information that, once made public, could reveal our position going into next season and potentially give our rivals hope. Without knowing exactly how much money the club has, I cannot commit to being a 100% supporter, I am probably 65%, and will continue to have negative thoughts about the club.

One thing though is really getting me really wound up, the refund situation.

Can you tell me what is happening on that front? I want my £30 odd back as I am not a charity and need to buy some more sponges and buckets for my car wash empire.

    Yours

    Fordy

I bet more than 5% claim back. Some will shout from the rooftops about their intention not to claim money back, then do it anyway. Probably some on here.

None of our group of 6 (5 with STs for nearly 200 years in total even when some weren't even living in the country at the time) responded to the survey. We hadno intention of asking for a refund initially. But we are now seriously pissed off with the club in the way this has been handled. So much so that we are probably now asking for a refund. The amount is peanuts and unimportant - about what we spend on a meal when meeting up before the game. It's the message we want to send that our trust in the way the club is being run is waning and the lack of communication from the two main players is of concern to us.

It's not only the NHS staff that have kept this country running. Bin men, shelf stackers, fruit pickers, bakers, delivery drivers. The list goes on.

Although me and my family have no intention of applying for a refund, that is a crass statement Silver.

I would never condemn any fan seeking a refund if they have fallen on hard times during this crisis, and certainly not label them as not being a true fan.

Don't forget, the club have been saving money courtesy of the furlough scheme in this period

I won't be. I get 3 season tickets for under £200, me and my 2 boy's, no way will I ask for a refund on that.

I don’t want any refund from Bradford City but I would like a refund on the Forest Green away tickets that can’t be used. Don’t see why a rival club should have my money unless they remain valid for next season.

This is a clear case of Legality V Morality. Fordy's post here is perfectly correct legally. If for example this was a Spice Girls reunion or Paper Lace Pontins Weekend extravaganza that had been cancelled, the promoters would be inundated with refund requests. But because this is the club we love and support, we are willing to overlook the refund.

I think the club will give the fans an option , and in the present pandemic and money being tight etc no stigma should be attatched to anybody wanting money back as @Keefly Bantam@Keefly Bantam said i too have been going to VP since 1965 , i've spent £1000s following them home and away , i live a fair distance away but still travel to home matches . I dont care who is in charge at the club , as far as i'm concerned i'm supporting an instituation i've followed the majority of my life and will continue to do so .

Strange how different this thread is to what was basically the same thread closer to the start of this crisis. Most of you seem in favour of offering a refund but previously when I said it should be offered I got a fair bit of abuse for suggesting it.

Every club in the country should be offering a partial refund (even if they will play the games behind closed doors and find a solution that lets all season ticket holders watch online). Fan's don't have to take it and I think most probably will just write it off and let their clubs keep it but its the fans money, they paid for a specific number of matches and if it can't be honoured they should be entitled to get the money back for the games that will now not be held.

As someone else mentioned though they should maybe find a way to reward those who let the club keep the money. For example, they are trying to clear last seasons merchandise already, that's already a sunk cost so they could probably send every season ticket holder something like a shirt for free as its really only costing them postage OR they could send a 50% off voucher that way they not only can get rid of the stock but it releases some capital a people are still paying some money for the items (and most likely still at more than it cost them). Or again as someone suggested some kind of raffle with some prizes worth more than the £30 but which cost way less to provide than refunding even 100 ST holder. Most would get nothing for their £30 just like in any raffle but you either don't get your £30 that you weren't expecting to have at the start of the season anyway or you get something back. TBH they could probably combine the raffle and the discount voucher, that way everyone wins something (but its a win that generates the club more money) and a handful will get a prize worth something

Because the season didn't come to a conclusion is not the clubs fault and I am quite happy to let the club keep my £30+ others may feel differently and that is their choice but I really can't be arsed claiming it back.

Lincoln. Employed some young managers that had an idea, an ethos. Used some bonus unexpected windfall cash to improve the structure of their club for future generations.

    Nah, will never catch on.

I'd say a real Bradford City fan is someone who has stuck by their team through good times and bad, be that an old timer as many who post on here or fans who only started recently.
If a fan just wants to see sexy football and a bigger ratio of wins then Bradford City should not be their choice, and for me personally the team you support should be the nearest Town, City you live in, I really have little time for Essex boys who support Man Unt etc, obviously that does not include the Essex boy who is a regular poster on here ;).

Further to the clubs decision, I'll be claiming and donating x2 towards charity.

Lost a dear friend, mentor, critic and genuinely great person to cancer last Saturday.
