Previously you have slagged the club off for not taking action and then when they do you still have a go at them.

How long do you think it took for him to agree to a 4 year contract? I would say about 5 seconds. Hardly eating into the other player recruitment time.

 

I dont have a problem with the contract. He's one of the few players we have who could be worth something, down the line. For all we know, there may have been interest in him from elsewhere.

We have much bigger problems to worry about.

 

Whats up did the club not give you a bell to get your permission to do this?
If another club had come in for him you would have been saying they should have offered him a contract not letting him go. You are unbelievable.

Anyone heard anything on Reece's potential injury?

Even if not serious I doubt he's going to play this weekend.

 

Reece was not at training yesterday that I could see, so I cant see him being available for Saturday.

 

If hes not playing i wonder what the lineup will be.... no AOC, POC or Saunton....

 

BRE and French, Sutton at Right Back.

 

Leeds are signing plenty including a new CB or can play right back, maybe we could borrow one of theirs ?

 

Does French play as a CB? Either way its reasures me for Saturday! i was expecting Lee Novak in CB again!!

 

He was bought as a CB, I think.

 

Transfermarkt has him down as a RB who has played/plays at CB. So fair play Faithful!

 

Played CB before we signed him and played CB in the games he played for us last season including the liverpool one. He can however play RB has shown recently and maybe he suits that position better.

 

We've got Longridge, BRE, French, Wood, Cousin-Dawson, Sikora and Sutton to form a backline. And AOC and Staunton perhaps to return for the next game. No need to panic and spend money on someone we won't need in a couple of weeks.

 

We need a centre back anyway. None of BRE or the O'Connors are good enough.

 

It depends whether we think the season will end or not. I can see the argument that it would be prudent to go with what we have now until the picture becomes clearer. Even after the end of the window there will be a lot of free agents around, moreso if the National League is abandoned.

 

Are any players good enough in your opinion?

I'll give you BRE, but both O'Connor's are definitely good enough for L2.

 

Paudie hasn't even got close to the kind of form BRE showed at the beginning of last season so given that you think BRE isn't good enough I'm struggling to see how you make the case for Paudie.

 

Not many, which is why we're not very good, flaky at the back and awful up front. O'Donnell is ok, but would easily be replaceable. Wood, Cooke, Watt - based on what weve seen so far, Clarke, Pritchard as squad options, Ismail if he could stay fit and look arsed. The rest? No not good enough. Some, by a long way.

The O'Connors arent good enough to be part of a promotion winning side. Paudie has been poor ever since he signed permanently.

 

As French is a center back and has played there regularly before joining us expect McCall to ignore this and play a center forward in that position weakening us in both positions in one stroke
