For the simple reason if he gets interest we can command significant compensation eh?

 

Good move looks a real prospect, could do with getting a contract extension for Wood next.

Only 18 and already looking like our best centre back. Not that it says much.... good luck to the lad though. I dont expect him to be here for long.

 

Good bit of business for the club here, expect him to be gone by '22 but we could command a large fee for him.

 

Bit of a stinker we wouldn't be able to put his sale onto the wage cap though.

 

Hope this works out better than the Omari Patrick extension following 3 good games!

This is great news, a good youth system is the way forward for a club in our position (skint). Bringing them into the first team when ready can only be a good thing for club and player.

 

Congratulations to Reece, that's some contract extension. Looking forward to seeing him develop for us. Hopefully he realises his potential, although may mean holding on to him for the length of that contract may prove difficult

 

When was the last time we handed out a 4 year contract?

I have a sneaky feeling this might just be one of the better decisions the club has made recently - I know we havent made many of them but a developing left sided centre back can be one of the positions in shorter supply. I just hope Reece isnt affected by the (on the whole) mediocre bunch he is currently playing with!
He will make mistakes but looks to have the character to learn from them and it doesn't seem to stop him 'giving it a go', when some of the other shrinking violets look for others to take responsibility. Keep positive and keep learning young fella

 

Good news. Shows the others first year lads what can be achieved with good performances. Hopefully a few more get tied down like Jorge Sikora. Looked good the other night.

 

Is he a local lad?

Its never a bad thing offering these longer contracts for prospects. He won't be costing a fortune at 18 and it protects the player and the club. Hopefully he can kick on and have a gokd season and im sure McCall will be sensible with his development.

 

I wonder if the decision to do this now is because there have already been clubs sniffing around.
