Recruitment help on the way

Ok, lets think about this seriously.

This lets all recruit and everything will be better in January is a load of bollocks! Those that fall for it are idiots. We will be doing what every club in the country will be doing barring Man City(only because Pep has stated no signing anyone) which is looking to maybe bring in players.

Bradford City need a DOF or a Sporting Director urgently. Look at todays match. What formation was that? McCall is all over the shop. We can recruit how you want but haven't got a style of play, no identity on the pitch. Sign as many players as we want but if one week we are playing 4-4-2 next 4-3-3 then 5-3-2 seriously we are not going to get far at all.

Look at Carlisle today 4-3-3 could play on the counter and had pace.

When we had Parky as manager we all knew how he would set up.

The problem is McCall. Make no question he needs to leave but until we hire a DOF or Sporting Director then we won't more forward. We have no rhythm, no direction.

I think it is a step in the right direction.

Lots have said SM needs help in recruiting so he is getting it.

IF it helps get in better players then surely it will prove to be a good move.

I wonder if this 3rd party is also auditioning for the DoF role that we all think is needed asap.

Watched the highlights of AFC Fylde v BPA on Tuesday and just watching Weymouth v Halifax now. The enthusiasm and pace of the players on view in both games puts our shower to shame.

 

My thoughts on Connolly are well known on here! As others have hinted, I am now seriously thinking that we couldn't afford him

Can anyone think of a successful January transfer window since it became a 'thing' 20 odd seasons ago? Relying on January recruitment to reverse a clubs fortunes has never reaped rewards. It's usually the futile last stand of a club on its way to oblivion from whichever league their in. Even in our miraculous end to the promotion season with Parky I'm not sure if Jan recruitment had owt to do with it. I'm not saying it's impossible that our fortunes could be reversed with some smart recruitment but the omens aren't particularly promising.

Here's hoping Southend and Stevenage are marginally shitter than us for the rest of the campaign.

 

Currently scouts are not allowed into grounds.Presumably if City employed someone who sticks to the club's Covid protocol he would be able to attend matches to scout potential recruits?
