RE Rotherham game, it’s sometimes a case of how much do the clubs want games to be on?

If the pitch covers are on given we know snow is coming, and temps rise before the weekend, and if we grit around the stadium (is that a council responsibility?), why shouldn’t it be on?

they are in dire form, we are in decent form and need to keep the pace up to boost our promotion hopes and attract decent players this Jan. You’d like to think we’re doing all we can to keep the momentum going!

 

The covers will have been on since last week but with the very cold temperatures over the weekend and start of the week the temperature of the pitch will have almost certainly have got below the -3 that the covers work to. The better temperatures should help but only a limited amount of sun will get onto the pitch to thaw it. We could have done with this weekend's game being a Sky game as we will have been able to borrow one of the heated tents from the EFL that they pay for with money from Sky.

 

On the latest Take Me Home podcast, Paul Hudson says there is no chance of Saturday’s game being frozen off.
Make of that what you will.

 

I agree with him. We're not getting the worst of the snow and by Saturday morning, slightly milder weather will be with us.

Outstanding podcast and entertaining to boot .

 

Interesting to hear the Stats man Nathan,however he said that Neufville was the last defender to score in three consecutive games since Ces Podd in the 80s. Well that is totally incorrect in that Ces Podd goals were as rare as hens teeth. He only scored 3 in his entire career and they were spaced years apart, I actually saw 2 of them at Southport in 76 and Huddersfield in 1982, his other was at Northampton.

 

Dont let facts get in the way of a good story. Watched Cess a lot and his goals where almost as rare as hens teeth.
