bradford_bd8_melborn2.jpg The legendary Melbourne. Scene of many a great local band and a very long running Sunday afternoon jam session run by Denny Austin (from Somebody's Brother).
Brother Eamonn still shows up at the occasional jam session I go to (and hehe sti can't keep time).

bradford_bd7_peel.jpg The Peel, Longside Lane, immediately behind the university.
This was a regular place to drink and play pool when I was a student, between 1980 & 1984. Served a great pint of Webster's dark mild.
The Tuesday evening jam session moved here (from the Elephant & Castle, Gt Horton Rd) later in the 80s and stayed for several years before moving to the Love Apple bar.

That was a bit after my time with them. I had kids by then and wasn't playing out much. I used to play regularly with them in the mid 80s when they played at the Elephant & Castle and other local pubs. I did some recording with them at Flexible Response studio on Chapel Street, Little Germany but nothing much came of it.

Noticed the Bingley Tavern on main street was boarded up, went for a drink with an ex-work colleague on a monday night a couple of months ago and it was dead, 4 of us in i think.
Plus the White Lion at Kildwick/Farnhill is shut, a few times a year a visit after a nice long canal walk to work up thirst and hunger.

Its me isn't it? I am a walking jinx.
Good job my football club is ok :(

Funnily enough, we went into the Potting Shed on a mon night and it was busy(pizza night) but looked more of an eating place, so went to the Brown Cow which got a 1 star rating in food hygiene(recently in t&a reported) and there were a few eating there and we had to make do with the tv off even though England were playing that night(didn't bother us at the time as didn't expect another goalfest).

Potting shed looks that way but it’s just like any place come later in the week. Brown Cow I only go If they have a decent band on so can’t judge. Usually bored out of my brains there. Depends what your taste is and what you want from a place

82068988-7B9E-4439-A8F5-3FFAFB3AF9A7.jpeg Used to visit Ferrands Arms Bingley back in its days. Always a few locals in and busy at weekends. Doesn’t look as if it will be reopening.

Not been in as yet but it looks very nice.
Mark must have spent a bob or two it seems as if they had been working on it 12 months or when it opened at Chrismas.
