I passed a pub on Rebecca St on Saturday, it had an old poster on the window "Jesters", that brings back memories but what was it's original "normal" pub name? It was a busy pub at the time (late 1980's) as was the nearby closed "Office". Along with The Harp of Erin, that trio of pubs was full of after work white collar workers, a lifestyle totally gone from Bradford but still thriving in Leeds.
I also went in The Castle, The Star and The Boy & Barrel, god knows how these dumps keep going, at least 2 decades behind the times, wouldn't miss any of them if they closed for good tomorrow. The Duchess of Kent I went in for the first time in 30 years and I had a good time, nice boozer. -

Many a good night here, even helped run it for a year around 2000/2001. Seen plenty of good bands over the years.

They played at my wedding evening do at East Morton Institute in 1986, along with Somebody's Brother, who I also played with a lot.
Only one of Four Beats is still alive now, sadly.
