Let them go, tell them they no longer represent English football or the Premier league and should they wish to rejoin they would do so at the lowest part of the football pyramid possible.

It's no surprise this talk of a European league is being mooted again.

The Champions League is a tired format with far too many pointless games, I mean tonight you had Rennes v Krasnador. I mean, really, unless you are a fan of either of these teams, would you watch it?

I'm not surprised these talks have come around again. Will it happen, I'm not convinced whatsoever

    https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/news/2020/november/efl-statement-rescue-package/

It looks like there's been a bit of a change of heart by the EFL on the PL's rescue package. I'd call it a U-turn! After having rejected the £50m package for the Div 1 and Div 2 clubs and stuck to their original position that they wanted £250m from the PL for all EFL clubs, including those Championship clubs with wealthy owners, the EFL has now agreed to accept the £50m for Div 1 & 2 clubs.

That's good news imo for those lower league clubs who are really suffering at the mo with rumours of players and staff going unpaid and a small number of clubs staring liquidation in the face. I hope this gets sorted out quickly now. It appears disciussions are still taking place on how the PL will help Championship clubs, well some of them at least. I'd like to be a fly on the wall in those discussions!

Not unexpected TBH and a lot of time wasted by the EFL who could of taken the L1 & L2 package weeks ago without the faux posturing.

I'm not surprised by it either and it has taken far too long to get even partially resolved. It looks as though the EFL and some of the Championship clubs were simply using the lower league clubs as bargaining chips with the PL clubs.

It is likely that a substantial amount of money, in Bradford City football club terms , will become available within the next few months.
It is unclear as yet as to what size of this largesse will be and it will be either a loan or donation.
My question is whether the current board and owner are already earmarking this as a cash flow saviour or
an unexpected cash bonus which they have neither budgeted for nor overspent .
Will they allocate it to team rebuilding in January and if so will they then be able to sack Stuart in the meantime.
I would not let him have a penny budgeted or not.

    A good summary here.

£15mill to be distributed using a lost gate revenue share calculation might be good news for us.

Or bad news for those who were relying on a couple of clubs going to the wall to save us.

Not sure why anyone would want another club to go bust.

I guess it depends on how they work it out.

Given the number of season ticket holders we have I don't think we bring that much in week to week in terms of gate receipts, so others may actually benefit from this more than we do.

I reckon on a normal match day we average about 2000 supporters including our own fans and away fans over and above our season ticket holders. So even taking into account concessions for kids and pensioners and averaging a modest £10 per game it probably costs us about 20k per match with the ground closed as a minimum. Not including drinks, food ,programmes etc which will be zero at the moment.

£250,000 is peanuts and crumbs from the table of the Premier League.

They didn’t have to give anything really. A lot of clubs are mismanaged and it’s good they’re putting provisions and conditions on the rest.

This money is a massive lifeline for most clubs and will definitely go along way to stopping teams going into admin. I like the idea of the extra fund too which comes with stipulations of what you can spend it on.

That’s what it’s all about. Making sure every club survives this pandemic. We look closer to getting fans back so this should tide most over. It’s not about what we want or what we need. Let’s use the money as a bonus and continue to work hard to make more and become successful. A lot to ask out of our club I know
