See I think Chelsea may find getting top 4 is hard work. They have bought a lot of good players but they have basically tried doing 2 summers of transfers in 1 and I feel they have had too much turnover for them to gel. Especially with them mainly being foreign, most foreign players who need atleast 6 months to settle so you are certainly unlikely to see them all do so.

Watched the Spurs/Everton game last night, Everton midfield looks really really solid. The two sitting midfielders of Doucoure/Allan with James pulling strings further forward... Look a team to watch for me.

Chelsea will breeze into the top 4. There certainly aren't 4 better teams than them in the PL, or not yet at least. Obviously there's still time for clubs to bring people in and strengthen though which a few of the chasing clubs, including yours, need to do.

You are only judging them on paper though. Thiago Silva is 35, is he going to stand upto the pace of the PL or is he going to be a bit of a Laurent Blanc who came to a faster more physical league too late? And is he going to be able to adjust his positioning which is something that often lets continental defenders down when they come to England.

Is Chilwell really a massive upgrade on Alonso?

Will Havetz, Werner and Ziyech adapt to English football? I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 flop completely and1 takes a season to find their feet.

And then you have whoever their new keeper ends up being. Everyone though Kepa was going to be amazing but he wasn’t. And how many of the youngsters will hit that second season brick wall where they seem to go backwards?

And even if they are all successful how long is a team with a whole new spin going to take to gel?

Obviously they couldn’t but ideally you would have wanted these changes to have been spread over atleast two seasons not all these changes in a single season

Chilwell is a top 4, proven left back. It didn't have to be a huge upgrade to be a good signing. He's pretty much as guaranteed to be a steady success as you can get.

Havertz and Werner will also be successes, I've no doubt about that. They haven't come from an inferior league and will struggle to make the step up, both are from a league very comparable to the PL. Come the end of the season (barring injury) both will have more than played their part.

Ziyech may the one that could be said to be an unknown quantity but at the same time Man Utd have made their only major signing from the same league and I don't hear many suggesting that he won't be up to it.

Thiago Silva might be 35 but his experience should be a huge asset, especially with the amount of youngsters Chelsea have in and around the first team. Again, i think thats a great signing, even if his minutes are managed and he's not playing week in week out.

As for Kepa, he's been about as reliable as David De Gea last year but I'd suggest both are capable of improving this term.

Covid has turned the football world upside down.
Looking at the premier league fixtures for this weekend and yet again just one match on a saturday kicks off at 3 pm, the rest are all staggered and again two games on a monday night.

Saturday 3pm kick off, how quaint.

This has been done so that all the games can be shown live on TV. This is why the game on at 3pm on a Saturday is also live. Fingers crossed this continues next month.

Leicester are playing some good football this season so far, like Rogers as a manager very good coach.
