    It was definitely poor form to do it but they must have had decent financial backing to be able to pay players to play in a league with no prize money.

    Many of the top Sunday league teams around that time paid the top players, Oakenshaw Woodman Inn, Victoria Rangers & EBU.

    Maybe it was just the prestige of winning the league, it was very competitive back then.

    It used to have a great set up. Unfortunately, it's dwindled massively and the standard got worse year on year.

    A real shame but there never seemed as much involvement in the clubs from younger lads coming through and it got harder and harder to get commitment from most of them.

    Some good memories of Sunday football though and managed 25 years of playing which wasn't bad for someone as appallingly bad as myself!

    Two possibilities.

    One is that they will not enforce it any more than they did for the Doncaster match.

    The other is that they have received critical feedback over the lack of masks at the Doncaster match and will try to enforce it.

    The masks may not be a legal requirement as such, but it could be deemed to be a condition of entry.

    Boris Johnson made it very clear yesterday. 'Yes! Masks, faces! As the Greek scholar Aeschylus once opined, the humph and the hurr, and the what! Bye jimminy. It is the bedazzle of the people persons, without doubt and clearly'. So hope you're all much more in the know now, folks.

    but their last of 5 points in their list that their stewards are not enforcing is reserving the right to remove spectators for putting others at risk.
