Pre match show last night.

You are right that it drowned out our chants as the team entered the pitch which was a shame.

 

We have the gold, silver and bronze commander alert for starters. Maybe slam that into a loop and get someone flicking the lights on and off.

In reality we don’t even have hot water in the bogs or working hand dryers.

Not sure our ground layout lends itself to that sort of coordinated light show. It is impressive but imagine take me home midland road to strobing lights. That would put a lot to sleep.

 

I like to get in early for big games to be fair, that was the idea yesterday and hopefully soak up the atmosphere but obviously there wasn't any as it was just music and lights.

I put this on the same category as goal music. It's not needed, fan noise and the celebration can be absolutely electric at times and playing loud music to cover that up has only come across as a massive negative in terms of the atmosphere.

 

I hope we all realise we paid half of the total cost of the “show”.

 

Horrible, that nonsense belongs in American sport, not a mickey mouse football competition in the middle of an English winter.

 

I thought it was way OTT and cringeworthy to be honest. Was way beyond what was required for the game....it wasn't a massive semi-final or final played at Wembley in front of 90,000 people but I think the brummies have clearly hyped up the game and what it means!!

Think there is a time and place for it but don't think last night was it.

It certainly didn't help the 'atmosphere' which only ramped up after each goal they scored.

 

Absolutely idle, i suppose we are both old school but it was start of a football match not a circus, typical American crap

 

Having been to the Etihad a few times and seen their light shows I was really underwhelmed.

 

We cant even sync Midland road over the PA system so it coincides with the team coming out. Ive never quite understood why they play it a few minutes prior to the teams entering the pitch. Im sure for a big game it would have more affect with the team being sung on to the pitch rather than the odd half arsed chant, a few claps and mutterings of people discussing the weather.

Its something ive noticed aswell on the "memorial" game, You never walk alone is barely audible when the teams come out and tends to get lost in the background until folk realise it

 

It's a horrible song full stop, so dreary, hate it with a passion.

Even worse for me is the awful Hi Ho Silver Lining dirge when we come out for the 2nd half.

Time to ditch both in my opinion and walk out to Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK

 

At least it's not Bubbles , though it's usually preceded by London's Calling which sounds brilliant when you've got Olympic quality sound.

 

Yes London’s calling is a superb tune for your neck of the woods . Bradford Calling doesn’t have the same ring !

 

Into the Valley does though, even though same applies to Charlton

 

Fulham use it often as do Charlton

Fulham is a great away day if the weather is good. Putney Bridge Tube, Stroll through Fulham Palace Gardens and Bishops Park by the Thames, or as we've down a few times a river cruiser from Dagenham Dock, few beers and lunch on the way, land at Fulham Pier, behind the new stand.
