    In the interests of balance:
"The Club has indicated to the Trust that it will not stand in the way of an ACV listing for Valley Parade."

Isn't the article all a bit misleading anyway?

The ACV gives the community groups six weeks to decide whether they want to launch a counter offer. If they decide to do so, they then get six months to raise the funds.

No way are the trust (nor anyone else) doing that. It'll be a six week delay at most. It's a complete non-story.

Bow to your comment Staff but not standing in the way and not being told the action has been taken, as appears to be the case, are two different things. Realise I may be splitting hairs as in reality, if it were me I'd get the stadium deal in place now, if indeed there is a deal, so it can be done six months and one day after the ACV is lifted. What worries me slightly is the fact that BMDC are potentially in a position to reopen the Odsal / Bulls to VP debate.

Why has he not sought a contribution from the group who applied for the ground to be kept as a sports stadium for a balanced report. Apparently the club were made aware well before the discussions that the ground was subject to the option for a community purchase.

Comrade Manny is going to have to shift a few scarves this season if he wants to put in a counter bid. Up the revolution brothers and sisters!

Bradford council are virtually bankrupt though @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler so it’s unlikely they could drive a deal to reopen any debate. They certainly can’t afford to keep bankrolling Bradford Bulls.

That’s the problem with the dreamers on the supporters trust who seem to think we could be a fan owned club or the fans could buy the ground Kevin, it’s just a fantasy that would never happen.

Im a natural pessimist Captain and I look at all possibilities which drove me in my working life. Fully understand the dire situation of the Council £220 million plus interest to repay but that didn’t stop them advertising a raft of new jobs at 50 to 70 k pa as soon as they got first loan. My pessimistic view is they have the resolution of Odsal coming up and may decide to put any windfall from that into using the ACV to impose Bulls on VP. Too pessimistic?

Can they be imposed on us? It is a private rental agreement isn't it, so even if the council and Bulls did want it surely we could say no in which case it would be the clubs fault. Weren't there pitch issues last time it happened as well? Bulls couldn't get away quick enough if I recall. Then there is the high rent to consider, I doubt bulls can afford half.

Sorry I don't see where this talk is coming from by you, to me it's a complete non starter in many ways.

I'm pretty sure the pitch dimensions are too small for the super league criteria now. Would have to take a lot of seats out to make the minimum as far as I can see.

Thats possible but surely he just makes his money back from the potential sale of the club. Its an asset.

Rubbish Wetherbywhaler ,it's no good having a go at Manny .The decision to go for a Asset of community value was first put to the club over 10 years ago .We were discouraged to go through with the ACV .The bantams supporters trust is not just Manny there's a board that meets once a month and everybody agreed we should go for it before Christmas.
Ryan Sparks was informed of this at least 6 months ago .We at the bantams trust ,I'm a member, but not a board member were discussing regularly about what should be done about VP ownership .We were in contact with Wimbledon afc who's supporters raised 11 million to finish their brand new stadium.I thought if wimbledon can raise 11 mill why carnt we raise maybe 4mill plus.As fans over the last few years we were so pissed off with everything we needed action.

I just don’t think it would be practical as the lease of Odsal is conditional of rugby being played there, the Valley parade pitch is apparently now too small for rugby league. Ground sharing has worked well for the likes of Wigan, Huddersfield and Hull but they had purpose built new grounds built. I understand your pessimism and I can see where you’re coming from but I would consider it unlikely. I agree with you though that I wish the supporters trust obstacle had not been put in the way.

I would not be opposed to someone else buying the ground.

The last thing we want is for Rupp to buy it then somehow we get put in a position where he or his estate own it but the club changes hands without it.

I know Rupp will sell both the club and stadium and thats probably why he's buying it in the first place, but if something goes wrong or Rupp is put out of commission, it's still feasible.

Gibb buying the stadium may have been important, but it's also been a millstone round the clubs neck. I don't want that happening again.

But if there's no consortium of City fans to buy it, I guess Rupp will end up with it anyhow. And also, if anyone else buys it, he probably doesn't sell the club.

This can't be a suprise. Surely Gibb as owner would've been told this when they did this ACV.

You are correct, Gibb would have been formally informed.

Also, as mentioned above, Ryan was also informed.
