OK, we've had the positional threads
    But let's start talking POINTS.

Only two Months in, and City have accumulated a colossal 7 points from 10 games.
There are 15 (8 AWAY) games to go before the January window, but just how many points will those games yield ?
Pick the bones from this lot ............

    Oct 2 Wimbledon
    .......6 Sunderland
    .......13 Accrington
    .......20 Rochdale
    .......23 Coventry
    .......27 Gillingham

    Nov 3 Portsmouth
    .......17 Peterborough
    .......24 Oxford
    .......27 Luton

    Dec 8 Plymouth
    .......15 Walsall
    .......22 Scunthorpe
    .......26 Sunderland
    .......29 Rochdale

Remarkably.......I can see at least 15 points in that lot.
So by my maths, 22 points, with 21 games remaining to the end of season, following the opening of the 'January window'.

So go on - Take a punt.
How many points will City have before they play Accrington on the 1st January ?

What's heartbreaking Ronnie is you say you can see at least 15 points from the next 3 months of games. If we'd have had October's fixtures in the past 3 seasons, I'd have been pretty confident of getting 15 points from that month alone.

    We’re hanging our hopes on

    A. Still being in the ‘mix’ of candidates to stay up, points wise, come January

    B. The owners being willing to put some money in to sign a few good players

What if, we’re skint? What if Rupps had enough, refuses to put money in and says ‘you’ve had your lot’?

And even if the club do make money available, given that our name is mud and we’re going to be fighting relegation, who, worth their salt, is going to want to come?

    For sure.
The fixture I'm dreading most is Boxing Day. It could be a reet Mackem Christmas !!
Normally on the 26th Dec, it's kind of an 'open house', with an all day Buffet and Booze. If City are at Home, it makes a part of my day...... Buffet/Booze, Footie, Buffet/Booze/Jokes .......... A great relaxed day. (Till we clean up !!)
Unless City get their act together, I think Sunderland will spank us good and proper on their own turf. :(

Best write that game off now mate - don't let thoughts of it spoil your Christmas. That way, IF we did manage to get something from the game, it would be like that one Christmas present you really really wanted as a kid but it looked like Santa hadn't delivered. Then, as you were trying hard to hide your disappointment, someone would 'find it' hidden behind the sofa ;)

Football has rarely spoilt my day, @Petrov@Petrov ;)

Christmas day - Awake and make butties about 08.00 (Check the Turkey !!)
Boxing day - Up at 06.00 and after a quick shower work your nads off to complete a buffet to die for.
The 27th ? Wake up whenever . Large fryingpan, Olive oil, and all the decent leftovers, served with toast. Brill ! :)

Barring major improvements in our play, or the signings of some amazing free agents, or even our luck turning, I'd still like to think minimum 12, going up to around 16 points, and so 19-23 by 1st Jan. That simply moves us up from strong bottom-of-the-table candidates to merely relegation certainties. So far 55 points has guaranteed safety; roughly 1.2 points per game. Right now we're at 0.7. Even a long run of 0-0s would help us.

We had a historically bad opening 10-game run (see my 10-game segments thread for the numbers) and another such segment may well make staying up too difficult a job. Every transfer window so far we've all said was going to be vital; this one it seems really will be...(end of! or perhaps, FACT!)

We need Hopkin to work some magic with the current squad, and make our 15ish point predictions too pessimistic.

Almost the perfect reply P. I've now moved on and think bollocks to Edin, he's not going to ruin what life I have left. I'll get on with it with or without City.

F*ck me that fixture list is about as frightening as a wet paper towel but somehow our esteemed overlord has made us so shit it actually looks daunting.

People complain about negativity, well let's be fair, Sunderland aside October will be huge.

    Every game there is winnable.

I know, some will question whether ANY are winnable on current form, but there's a real opportunity here. I'd like to see us win three or four of those six games.

I would, though, take 10 points. And no, it's not impossible. One win, maybe even a couple might just spark something.

Momentum is massive, even if we will still have a poor season overall.

I'm the wrong poster, because I completely disregard the tinpot kiddy shield.

That's a friendly in my view.
