Could be a thread for general chat but it's more about players i remember being linked with City.

My first is Matt Crooks, currently playing for Boro tonight against Luton. I think it was @Sergio Pinto III@Sergio Pinto III who mentioned that he was decent player and i thought he was bang average. I'll hold my hands up and say i got that one wrong, lad has done well.

Prior to coming to City on loan , I thought Jon Stead didn’t cut it.

His display, 1 stunning goal and two assists against Chelsea was an absolute masterclass in centre forward play from kick off to final whistle.

    I was ridiculously wrong.

Tom Eaves was another mention at times in here and hes.done well for himself. Our very own Andy Cook, till this season I thought his all round game was poor to average but he's really worked on that side of his game.

Do you think we had preconceptions about what a ‘big forrad’ should be about?
John Stead was anything but your typical big number nine, but made up for it in so many other ways. His ball control, ability with his back to goal was outstanding

Slightly off topic but nobody at all gave Tyriek "WHO?" Wright a chance from the moment he signed for us, but he was nothing short of a revelation in the short time he had with us. Given his previous experience, I don't think anyone saw that coming. Wonder if he is regretting his move? He wasn't even on the bench on Saturday

    Lewis O'Brien.

My opinion had changed even before the time he left us, but to begin with I thought he was a bit of a headless chicken.

    Timothee Dieng.

Who's have thought after suggesting he wasn't really tearing up league one, he'd end up in league two eh @Park bantam@Park bantam ?

Man, did I get that one wrong.

Please don't beat me up - when he first came I thought Josh Cullen was overrated.

No I just didn’t rate him whether he was a centre forrad or not. How wrong I was.

I watched the Chelsea game again …wow.

Olly McBurnie was absolutely woeful for us. The term "bambi on ice" was invented for him

When I found out Swansea paid circa £250k for him I said we well & truly had their pants down

Fast forward to an £18m transfer to the Blades and I cannot believe how decent he has proved to be

Mcburnie was never given a chance by our fans. Young lad when he was playing for us, needed building up but got slated by our fans .
Hemade 10-20 appearances mainly off the bench, should have been given more time from fans and managing team

I disagree. 15 appearances for a 19(?) year old gives fans a decent basis to make their minds up. We were on the ascendency, unfortunately owners & managers can't afford the luxury of patience to see if a player will improve or not

Yes he had some pace with him too
He looked poor because he was pinging balls into spaces where good players should be
Unfortunately ours were average at best
Proved he had class at Liverpool in a good team tho

I thought it was obvious at the time that there was a player there. He'd done really well in a youth tournament at Man U and was already being watched by Scotland. But he was a spindly beanpole who clearly wasn't developed enough for the physicality of lower league football. He was thrown to the lions by Parky, to cover a short term injury crisis. It was notable that once he started playing regularly after his onward move to the Blades, he had bulked up considerably.

Never rated him and was totally amazed when Swansea signed him
Best remembered for his part in beating Weeds in the cup

I just remember his corners. They always seemed to hit the first man.
