I think your ratings are spot on!

Didn't understand the tactics today. We played with wing backs who never got forward, two defensive midfielders and hoofed the ball to their defenders consistently. We set up to keep the score down, rather than attack in my eyes and that's unacceptable.

Wright was terrible and should of been brought off at half time. Struggling to think who had a good game, maybe Akpan was the best of a bad bunch.

 

O'Connor keep the score down he's wasted with the shit players we have and the tactics were worse

 

Doyle a 3? Did you actually attend the game

 

Doyle didn’t have any service whatsoever he was too clever for his team mates at times lumping it up to him was criminal , miller alongside will create much more space for Doyle as he runs and runs

 

O'Donnell 8 superb saves at times kept us in the game. MOM
Mellor 6 steady but looked better in a 4
O'Connor 7 solid needs better player at side of him would love to see McGowan with him but that would mean 3 right footed players with Mellor at the back.
NKP 5 looked shaky and fault for 2nd goal.
Chicksen 5 bang average
Riley 4 never was at the races.
Akpan 6 solid in the tackle but can't cross a ball when he a good postion ie first half.
Wright 5 went AWOL at times then had a few minutes where he looked interested.
Payne 6 tidy player but trys that extra a touch a poor man's Robbie Blake springs to mind.
Scannell 6 has burst of speed then seems to get easier caught up. A few good flicks can see him being very good more often than not when fully fit.
Doyle 6. Led the line and tried but had no service where have we heard that before. Needs a 2nd striker at side of him not 30 yards away.

Robinson 5 nothing special
Seedorf 6 very raw but looks like if given more game time will create chances with his pace had their full back for toast at times and then lost the ball.
Miller not really enough time to rate.

All in all better team won and will certainly be up there as for us give it 7/8 games to gel before I will make a prediction.

 

Doyle ran himself into the ground and tried hard to create chances and made some decent passes/headers to team mates when he could. Hardly a rating of 3. Christ you gave chicksen a 4-should have been 0.4.

Agree with this, Doyle with Payne playing just behind and balls in to feet would be the way I'd go. With Miller as a sub for Doyle.

 

I thought Doyle was given a raw deal today with little or no support, with the Macclesfield game on Tuesday night what about playing Kai playing side him and see what that partnership can offer.

 

Ironically @Bronco thought today would have been ideal for kai to come on just to bully their defence.

 

Has he bullied any defence since he's been here? If anything he's made their life easier

 

Yes he may not be the most talented but he wins alot of headers something we didn't do today.

 

I'll have to disagree with you on this one. Kieffer Moore showed what a real target man is
