Was at the end of season dinner and it was a great night packed to the roof, Paudie and Songo the main winners of the awards,
Was sat with Theo Robinson who won the goal of the season award and was a top class all round guy and then of course the announcement of Walker signing topped the night off nicely

What a load of tosh that event.

An event for a season of failure. Glad you had time though.

Ok Fordy, we get it. We are not Liverpool . You really do not support Bradford city or like them, but do you have to knock every single thing they do. Or is it you just love to wind up people on here. Either way it is now becoming repetitively boring.
Thank god its the end of the season and hopefully less negative posts from you.

I guess by the fact he didn't wear a tie, that the award came as a suprise to him :)

Nothing to do with the fact we are not Liverpool or Man City but the fact that over recent years on and off the pitch this club has failed. If something fails then then it deserves a negative reaction and a positive one is just FAKE!

However, we now have a quality manager that I believe fits the club and understands football. We have to see if he gets lower league football but he will get use to that. We have signed Walker which is a good signing even though I wasn't too fussed if he signed or not and we have got Angel on another year. Great!

Long way to go before I start dancing about how great we are as a club though. I want to see more quality signings, more off the pitch improvement.

You wouldn't catch me at any end of season do when the club failed so badly. They don't deserve my time and the players have been shocking. I can blame Adams and boy I do but Rupp and Sparks have been a massive let down last season but all the players need to look themselves in the mirror also.

We move forward though and lets hope that this is the time its not only the fans that step up but the players, the club and others do also. Forget soundbiting Sparks with "Own the moment" bollocks" - THE TIME IS NOW! STEP UP!

The power of positivity can go a long way. Being negative, very rarely brings anything to the table. It has been said many times and we all know too well the club has struggled since 2017. I think the green shoots of recovery are starting to show,
18280 fans for a nothing game on Saturday, with 16600 being home fans , shows that many believe it too. Yes we have a way to go.
You may not have been bothered about signing Walker, but the lad is a good footballer and i am certain the crowd response as he left the field on Saturday will have gone a long way to making his mind up , money or not, the positive reaction he got would lift anyone's spirit.
I for one am really looking forward to this next chapter, we may not gain promotion, we have no divine right.
, but i think we will be entertained along the way, with better football than we have seen in a long time. After all it is the entertainment business .

I don't think me mentioning him not wearing a tie is negative. Was a tongue in cheek statement and something light hearted. However - I do think it pays to look smart. Look at Hughes in his suit each weekend (was wearing a nice City tie on Saturday), compared to some track suited manager. Brings a whole air of professionalism to the club in my opinion. Yes I know Pep and Klopp also go casual, but they don't really need to be dragging their players and whole club up by the scruffs of their necks like we do.

In Paudies case, maybe it's just his fashion sense. Probably wouldn't suprise me if him, or some of the other lads weren't wearing socks either. It's "the thing" apparently.

    Not aimed at you mate.
They can wear what they want for me. Its what they do match days that count.
Although some of the things the young uns where these days, make the 70's and 80's fashions look almost respectable.

I didn’t say they were scorers, as they generally bring others into scoring positions, however Hughes and Hodges have got our back pairing playing as they should and as a result , look different players than under Adams. More than happy to accept that Jon. They aren’t stood hand in hand on the halfway line for starters like the previous managers had them doing.

I think the expectation levels are always raised after a poor season, although the Hughes signing has made a massive difference. Don't forget, a lot on here had high expectations after the signing of Adams despite his reputation for dour football and a negative demeanor. Looks like the club might be in heading in the right direction, we've had water poured on false hopes before though. A couple more decent signings like Walker and I'll be quietly confident with Hughes at the helm of a decent season.

We were smart as hell in those days. Ben Sherman’s, South Sea Bubble jumpers, stay press pants, two tone suits, loafers, brogues and (fake) crombies. I used to spend most of my apprentices and behind the bar wages on City, clothes and……

i was one of the one's willing to be bored to death in the hope of climbing out of this league. Mark Hughes is in a different league to Adams in every sense. Even his post match interviews are a breath of fresh air.

He comes across humble and very approachable l, the direct opposite to Derek Adams, whose appointment was a mistake from the very beginning. It went against the strategy we were going with in having Turnbull as recruitment director and to change that philosophy cost the fans another wasted season. I happy to see an air of excitement for the first time in a long time but that doesn't mean Sparks should get away with basically shafting the fans for a season. Even the announcement of Walker at the awards last night was a great way to deflect the attention from what has been an absolute disgrace of a season. The fans have backed this club despite this and Sparks should be very thankful of that.

All the players were in suits as the club insisted on it, Some players may have removed ties as the night went on but ask any of the fans who were there that all the players and manager were happy to chat and have photos taken with them, Theo bought the whole table a round of drinks which was good of him as he is leaving but enjoyed himself as much as the fans
