    Mccall wouldnt have achieved what he did had he not had the strong defensive foundation Parky left him. Mccall built on that and expanded the attacking side which is why his team seemed such a complete side for that level. a bit like Wenger went a bit to pot once he had to start signing his own defenders when the ones he inherited retired or moved on.

    You mean those poor defenders who were part of the team that were in the top 6 until December, I think most know "NOW" what happened post McCall sacking.

    Mcardle, Darby, Meredith, Davies all moved on during or at the end of the first season under mccall if i remember rightly. Meredith practically got the milwall coach home after wembley. once the history makers defence were truly disassembled we were a worse side for it as the players mccall replaced them with weren't as good bar perhaps Vincelot and he wasn't even meant to be a centre half. As much as we were in the top 6 both me and me old man agreed that they didn't look anywhere near as comfortable or dominant in games as the play off final season prior.

    The back four when we got to the play off final was made up of two McCall signings in Vincelot and NKP and McMahon who played right midfield under Parkinson not defender, only Meredith was the same. And a winger sparky hardly used in Marshall and Dieng at centre mid, think it’s fair to say it was a McCall team tbf.

    Not the team, just the defence and if that's the case I stand corrected. Although I would contend it certainly wasn't the case for the whole season and once it was indisputably a mccall team the season after, the defence looked shakier. Tons of other stuff going on in the background which contributed to loss of form etc but thats been done to death and I do believe mcall isn't a very good defensive coach.

    No you quoted the defenders McCall brought in during his second season, as I say the same defenders that had us in the top 6 until December, yes you your dad and many others thought we were over achieving but we were still there until he was sacked, some thought Rahic rightly sacked him unfortunately many others new his reason.
    You quote McArdle, Meredith and Darby, the only one McCall didn't offer a contract to was Darby, Meredith as you say was possibly a done deal but he wanted to keep McArdle and once Rahic said the offer was the only one on the table most knew McArdle would not stop, McCall openly said McArdle wouldn't have a problem getting a better offer, and was proved to be correct.

    Just quoting facts mate that team were in the top 6 when Rahic & Rupp sacked McCall, many at the time who were privy to things going on behind the senses maybe formed a different opinion why he was so quick to get rid, yes it was a bad run but so was Phil Parkinson's but Julian & Mark had faith in him.
    Anyone would think Rahic sacked him because of the 6 defeats (or how ever many it was) do you after whats been brought to light since his departure seriously believe Rahic was not just waiting for the first bad run of form.

    If you look at the team Parky put out in the behind closed doors match it will pick up a lot of points. Whether it will be enough to save them remains to be seen

    Best I can tell, the #bwfc line up was: Matthews, Brockbank, Wheater, Adam Thompson, Boon,
    O’Neil (!), Oztumer, Lowe, Murphy, Politic, Magennis. Second half subs included Conway, Pringle and Zouma.
