I'm quite happy for them to remain in National League North or lower. I think it would be a big problem for City if they achieved FL status though, as they seemed to be aiming for a couple of years back.
Splitting the Bradford fanbase would not be good for us.

I have a friend who is very good mates with Thommo, went to school together in Kendal and played on the same teams throughout (until Thommo got a bit good).

Apparently Thommo is seething about this dismissal. The club is owned by Americans who have no idea about football, and don't understand that 18 new players can't just get on the pitch and gel straight away. Thommo and his assistant have had their names dragged through the mud.

Thommo offered a chance to train with us by Bowyer, and also offered a strikers coaching role at the club.

Seems all is not good at BPA - it's their turn now :)

Indeed, Yorkshire CC used it. Last county cricket match in 1996. Also some internationals and womens World Cup games held there.
Can't help thinking that that article has been romanced up a bit. What's the chances of finding some safety pins and marbles, AND finding the people with the back story behind them? :)

Nice to get some profile though.

I thought the club was owned by a Holme Wood lad, who now lives in America?

In fairness to Park Avenue, it's one thing not gelling straight away, it's quite another suffering successive 5-0 losses. and Curzon are crap.

that said, it is far too early to sack him.

Highest attendance at the Park Avenue ground was
    Bradford Park Avenue v Liverpool, 13 October 1945, 18,308

Which suggests the claimed 37,000 capacity includes the cricket ground that shared a stand or is a bit romantic, Having said that it was a better ground than Valley Parade

The board has recently changed, they are currently in the process of transferring the club to a Community Interest Company and the new board of directors is as follows: Gareth Roberts (from Holmewood but lives in Texas), Jonathan Collura (American and founder of Bugeaters FC of Nebraska :p and on the Board of the Gulf Coast Premier League) Dr John Dean (from Pudsey worked at Filtronic with Prof Rhodes). The Company Secretary is David Little and the Football Secretary is Colin Barker.

What the hell happend at the club to be in the state they are after nearly getting promoted last season.
I'd love them to get league status again.
Some good, but mostly bad memories of the Bradford derbies.

    Yes really.
I believed the City could support two teams they did for many years, they as us would have to cut the our cloth to suit, Avenue getting back into the Football League would not bring them 5/6,000 fans instantly, but I'm not afraid of competition within the City.
I doubt very much Bradford City fans would change their allegiance so it would be a slow build of fan base for the Stan's, our destiny is in our own hands and I don't believe it would be at the detriment of Bradford City.

Even in a new stadium it would take many years to bulid a good fan base and that would have to go along with improvement on the pitch.
It would be competition for our owner/owners to make sure they gave the manager at Bradford City the means to climb the league ladder and always be ahead of the opposition.

Reading that again one has to wonder apart from Mr Homewood Gareth Roberts why would the rest be in the slightest interested in a "Community Interest Company" is there a coincidence in @king karl@king karl post https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/bulls-to-leave-odsal.2780/page-8#post-252013 and Bradford Council having input, they love a community gig do our councilors ;).

Avenue owner Gareth Roberts has stated today, that it costs him personally, £5k a week, to keep them going
