Makes you wonder whether we would have been better keeping him now instead of Mullin. He couldnt have make any less impact than Mullin is having

 

Cook just needed to get back into the rhythm of starting games and the goals were always going to come. Unfortunately he was never going to be given the time to do that with us.

 

I dont think the preferred bidder is the preferred bidder the fans were hoping for, but anything is better than doom at the minute. I think they have a date by May that they need it signed off for or they'll start next season with a 15 points deduction?

Old owner is still due some millions too as part of the admin process. I reckon it might be a year or two before they get moving again.

 

If you have some kind of structure to work with then fair enough but they havent that team would struggle to finish half way up in league 2 .............

I don’t think Mullin (through no fault of his own) has had a shot yet has he? So I don’t think Cook would have fared any better.

We huffed and puffed against Doncaster when Mullin was used as a sub (we he should have been awarded a pen in the build up to Wright’s goal) but he wasn’t used at all against Stockport and Peterborough and has only started in games where GA has effectively thrown him to the wolves away from home - in that first half vs Luton where their midfield battered us and we created nothing, and then at Wimbledon, in a crap set up when Kelly and Sibley started.

When we see him in a City side containing Pointon, Sarcevic and Jackson, especially at home, then we’ll likely create something for him other than aimless punts.

 

Half time in the 12:30 games, Barnsley keep their form going as a bank for both teams to score as they are 1-1 against Orient. Barnsley have now had both been involved in a both teams to score in 22 of their 31 games, the only team with more is Reading.

Peterborough are losing 1-0 to Northampton, if it stays that way they stay 7 points from the play offs and 13 points from us.

 

Orient are rapidly looking like relegation fodder . They are far worse defensively than when we should have been 3-0 up at half time . Terrible in fact.

 

Wycombe have come out of mid-table obscurity to be one win away from the play offs. Nathan Lowe is there now after his Stockport stint which didn't look too bad on paper, but he's scored 2 and has an assist in 57 minutes of footy at Wycombe since he's return to fitness. Seems like they have a few young lads who are impressing this season.

They could be a sneaky one to watch, but they still have to face us, Cardiff, Luton, Bolton, Stockport, Huddersfield & Lincoln so if they are going to do it, they will have to have big performances against top sides to get some momentum into the play offs. Final two home games again Blackpool and Rotherham, with Rotherham possibly already down before the final day.

 

Away at Barnsley as well tomorrow - will be a hiccup for one of them! If Barnsley win and fare well in their games in hand, can maybe substitute Wycombe for Barnsley?!

 

Yeah it's a big game, draw for either isn't the worst outcome. I was listening to an EFL pod last week and they were breaking down just how much Barnsley need McGoldrick. He is their real threat and the rest of the squad are far too inconsistent, dunno how much they can keep a 38 year old going playing twice a week now?

Barnsley will need to find some other outlet for the rest of the season, another old head was brought in with Bradshaw but he's another who doesn't play 90 too often.

 

Unless Barnsley have a transformation defensively I think they will struggle massively to get around 30 points from 15 games to make it to the play off. This season they've conceded the 4th most goals and the most per match keeping only 2 clean sheet and in the last 10 games they've conceded 20 goals. Even if they keep scoring at the rate they are defensively will most likely cost them. They've been inconsistent all season and I can't see that changing, they've not won back to back games since November

 

Not a league 1 game but a game to keep an eye on is Port Vale's game against Bristol City in the FA Cup tonight. If they were to pull off an upset and get through then it would mean they play Sunderland in the next round on Sunday meaning our game next Tuesday will be postponed, I would imagine it will be just put back 24 hours rather than moving to another Tuesday.

 

Wycombe currently 1-0 up as things stand and up to 6th. Michael Duff is doing an incredible job with them, since he joined they are 5th with 45 points from 26 games. When he took over they had lost 5 from 8, in his 26 games he's only lost 5.

 

Wycombe are outplaying Barnsley,winning 1-0 and 17 shots with 7 on target. Our healthy position in the playoffs is looking a little flakey now. We’ve got a job on our hands to stay in the top 6 ,especially as we have to go to Wycombe.

 

Oh no , that means Huddersfield are down to 7th. ( sorry I don’t seem to be able to post emoji)

Couple of must win games for them coming up with Rotherham at home then Port Vale away with 6 of the next 7 against promotion/play off chasing sides.
