So, the fixture lists are about two weeks away, from release.
What is YOUR preferred fixture, and any reason why ? ;)

    I would like Salford, Away.
They have spent thousands to enter the EFL, and no doubt will spend yet more.

I want to see just how good they really are. Do they have momentum ? In addition, it will show us where we are, as the season kicks off. Will we be happy with our squad, (in August) or still need further recruitment ?
They are an unknown quantity, so the perfect test.

Just looking through the teams and its all really underwhelming Ronnie, maybe I'm suffering from the "Big Club Syndrome" we were so often accused of in our previous league Two spell.

Wouldn't mind Salford to get a gauge of what we (and they) are all about, though I do hope our first 11 is at least 60-70% different to our last league game.

Other than that I dunno, one of the previous seasons strugglers at home? Macclesfield, Port Vale? A gentle landing in League Two? Like that exists.

Plymouth or Exeter away. Get those long trips out of the way early doors.

Also, as I’ll be away for the start of the season, don’t want to be missing the opening home game, so as far away as possible for me

Morecambe Away, Hopefully Morecambe Bantam still works at that Holiday park because he put a great weekend on last time.

Quite enjoyed Grimsby away too. dump of a place but you get a great atmosphere in their ground.

Morecambe away to be able to enjoy being at the coast before winter sets in, Carlisle away to be able to go on the train, quite fancy Grimsby away too, wish we hadn’t missed being able to play Lincoln because I’ve never been there.

    Oldham away.

Get that done before winter comes.

The last thing we want is another poor start to the season, so I'm tempted to say Macclesfield or Cambridge at home to give us the best chance of picking up three points in our first game. Saying that it could have opposite the intended effect, imagine if we lost our first home game against a side expected to do poorly.

Home to Walsall. We seem to have a good record ar home against them. I can also pretend we are still in league 1 playing a fellow relegated side!

Didn't we draw 1-1 at home to Macclesfield on our return to L2 last time around?

Yep I think your right. But i'm hoping we have better players than Barry Conlon and Ndumbu-Nsungu this time around.

Oh the excitement of Div 2.

    Couldn't care less!

Bowyer do your job and just get us out of this awful league.

    Quite a depressing thread
Didn't want to think about the likes of
Morecambe Macclesfield Cambridge (with respect) until August
A reminder how low we have sunk
Whoever we play first doesn't really matter we have to get off to a winning start
    and keep the run going
Imagine the first home game a defeat to Forest Green !!!!!!!!!

My thoughts exactly. Can't get excited about next season at all. I probably won't until the season starts.

We won our first game away at Shrewsbury last season that didn't pan out to well

Yeah, I wouldn’t be too disappointed to not win our 1st game but put in a good performance. We beat Shrewsbury last season but looked awful against another poor side. My alarm bells were ringing even after that win.

We did. I remember VP was absolutely bouncing before kick off, an air of: 'the ginger deity hath returned, we're packing the place out, we're gonna walk this league' permeated the air. Not many feeling the same after the game and then the home defeat to Accrington that quickly followed let fans know that it was going to be a long old season and not the cakewalk many anticipated.

I really don't care, all I know is I'm spending my Saturday afternoon in meadowhall, just let that sink in for a minute. Now whoever we play and whatever league it is all seems so trivial compared to the suffering I am going through. The season has already been over too long.

Good Luck Pomfretbantam going to Meadowhall on a Saturday would have seemed like a welcome distraction last season
