    The 181 / 182 service from Garforth Street (about a 5 minute walk from the away end, just across the dual carriageway), has departures at approximately 17:17 and every 20 minutes. The 17:17 is due back into Piccadilly Gardens at 17:55. Even allowing for the traffic, you should make that 18:56 comfortably. I'm hoping (and expect) to make the 18:27 from Piccadilly station.

    Here is the alternative by bus, l prefer the tram and use it to get around Manchester.

    Cheers Rod, will be getting one of them then!! Meeting eldest in Manchester as he's at Uni but he has a student card anyway!!

    Funnily enough now I remember one of the times we went to Bury by tram. Eldest had just started at Manchester Uni, he was just 18 but looked a lot younger. The Metrolink assistant on the platform kept asking me how old he was so I kept telling him and then he said he only looks 16 which means you can get this family ticket!! I was a bit slow on the uptake there!!!

    If you've got a Plus Bus or day ticket, there's nothing to stop you hopping on & off along the route as you wish; same with the tram.

    If it was straight there i might have considered it but this is northern we're talking about. And the fact i'm there in less than 45 minutes by car from Bradford.

    Not many 10p rail tickets left for Oldham. Outwards on the 08:33 from Bradford Interchange and 21:19 onwards back from Manchester Victoria still available.

    I’d advise people to check from Halifax too, it’s on the same route. I managed to get an outgoing from Halifax to Victoria at 10:17, I get on at Pudsey but can’t miss a bargain.

    Ah the cheeky one. Get a ticket from Atherton to Bradford for 10p but only use the Manchester Victoria section. ;)

    Awful away day is Oldham, been about 3 times and won’t go again unless it’s a big big game.
