    Just received this e-mail train deal, which I guess people could use to get to the Oldham game. Either travel to Rochdale or Manchester Victoria and get a tram out to Westwood the nearest stop to Boundary Park.

    Mills Hill train station an option via Rochdale though around 1/2 hour walk.

    Won't be going. Spent a fortune and put the miles in through December and got nothing for it. I know it's right on our doorstep but I have better things to do. Never thought I'd say that about City but it's just the way I'm feeling. Oldham in dire form lost the last 3. If there's ever a chance to give someone a good drubbing this is the game. I just can't see him going for the win though so I don't think it's worth going. Would love to be proved wrong but can't see it.

    Correct. Ironically I am away when we play Oldham and I actually get back on 2/2/2020, so that is probably why l mixed the dates up. Mills Hill is on the Chadderton/Middleton boundary area and is suburbia, nothing much there. The Rose of Lancaster pub is on the walk to to Boundary Park.

    On the last few visits I've used the 181 / 182 bus service from Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester which drops you off close to the ground. Takes about 40 minutes from Manchester to the ground.

    About 5 minutes walk from Mills Hill. I'm sure I've done RoL before, many years ago but didn't end up walking but got a taxi.....too many sherbets

    Cheers chaps much appreciated. I just booked some to manchester victoria, hoping to get match tickets now.

    Wife even thinks she is getting something out of it, as ive told her ive booked her and the 2nd daughter onto the train too so she can have a shopping day. Wont let it on it cost 20p


    Just a note to anyone booking, the server is really slow so might take a few goes to get payment through

    The other option was Rochdale, but again they do not seem to be available. I guess the Manchester Victoria journey makes a lot of sense. If you travel by tram to Westwood then it is a zone 1-3 & costs £4.20 return. If you are going with kids and a mate, then ‘A family travelcard is for group travel on Metrolink trams for one to three children (aged under 16) accompanied by one or two adults and costs £6.90 https://tfgm.com/public-transport/tram/ticket-prices/zones/1/2/3?search=/public-transport/tram/ticket-prices The advantage over the bus is that the trams leave from Victoria station and should be every 6 minutes.

    Bear in mind return journeys, like a plonker ive picked the first available 10p return which is or was the 18.56, looking at bus times back im cutting that a bit fine unless forking out probably a fair bit on trams or other buses

    Hopefully this puts your mind at rest! As I posted above the cost of the trams is £4.20 return, so really quite reasonable.

    @Bigrod@Bigrod , cheers i spotted yours as i finished uploading my post. Yeah that has made things a bit better getting the tram. I looked at buses and they were coming up as 10 min journeys, walk 20 mins then jump on another bus. It wasnt looking good in peak traffic but this is much easier
