Sincerely hope not Odsal is a soulless bowl unfit for any kind of sport
as proved when it was our home after the fire
It's got a lot of things in its favour ie the motorway network etc
but will never be fit for purpose

Spent a significant amount of my childhood at Richard Dunn’s. A bit of a loss, hopefully Sedgbergh is a decent replacement.

Not necessarily true Steve, i spent many a good afternoon watching the Bulls/Northern. I agree that the stadium wasn't the best but certainly wasn't a deal breaker, especially when used to its advantage. Having read the RFL statement , i am quite rightly sceptical of any talk of redeveloping Odsal especially when Bradford Council have a vested interest. But through that scepticism, if the agencies and parties involved at Odsal could have the ingenuity to think long term they could build a facility that is used for multiple sports, education and the community. Rugby alone does not justify the development of Odsal, but if you include the likes of football, speedway, athletics and tie it in with state of the art facilities for sports science, physiotherapy, sports business development education it could attract opportunities all year round, a unique sporting village to rival any in the country. With a new rail station at Low Moor and the motorway on the doorstep it would give a long term purpose to a City that at this moment doesn't really have one.

    True
Maybe it's the cynic in me but have heard it all before
Like you have stood watching Bulls/Northern Speedway etc and in winter it's positively hypothermic
The only thing that makes me give it a second thought is the demolishing of Richard Dunns but still as you quite rightly say Bradford Council have a vested interest
Do you think a move for Bradford City would be on the cards ?? It would be a hell of a wrench and prove very unpopular to most fans if so

Not at this time no mate, Valley Parade suits the needs of Bradford City as it stands. Give another 10 or 15 years and the place is going to need a fair bit of remedial work on it though, its already starting to show its age now. All boils down to economics. I think if City did in theory move then Odsal would be a definite goer but probably to many barriers in the way. Whatever they do at Odsal has to be commercially viable, it cannot run on sport alone. Make it the headquarters for Rugby League, Speedway as well if still exists in this country. A 15,000 to 18,000 stadium would suffice, then build the infrastructure to go with it, leisure and catering facilities and a sports campus that entails education and learning. Gotta thin k big or it won't work.
