Just been down at the Mac: the puppies are not at all happy. They are ready to march LG out of the building! They are also worried about the mantle of ‘sacking club’ one of them has mentioned the R word! I will need a sack load of anti depressants to calm this lot down.

 

I did think I might mention Steve Bruce might be available shortly, but then I realised they had already had a bite of him!

 

I was expecting him to be sacked after last week then after losing a 2-0 lead on Tuesday. With the amount of money spent on wages and long term contracts given out in the summer they really can't afford to be relegated. Darren Ferguson can't be too far behind after Posh's awful start

 

It's really no surprise, as I posted above I wouldn't be surprised to see Grant at Town go and Bloomfield at Luton, both clubs spending large fees during the closed season and as yet seen very little in return points wise and having played both and seeing them also football wise.

 

Bruce has gone, but hardly surprising given their form. Grant has till the end of October to improve. There is constant vitriolic criticism coming st him from the fans. Half of them walked out of the ground today.

 

I’ve got to ask, how did the other half exit?

 

Ferguson will be sacked soon, and reappointed by February.

 

All in all a pretty decent day yesterday. Stevenage and Cardiff won, but Lincoln, Luton, Town losing and Doncaster, Barnsley throwing away leads made for a pretty decent day.

 

Luton, Huddersfield & Peterborough have all spent millions in the summer and could all be looking for new bosses within the month. The money thrown around is far larger than L2, but you wont be given a lot of time to make it work either if the signs aren't there.

 

But they are in the playoffs with a similar amount of points that Wrexham had last season so I cant see them sacking Grant yet. Maybe if they were to lose the next couple.

 

We should expect a very scrappy game with not many chances.

They beat Luton because they out-scrapped them and took their chances.

If we take our chances like we have been doing prior to Rotherham then we should be ok. If we're as wasteful as we were at Rotherham then it will be a struggle.

The less corners and set pieces we concede the better as well which is a bit of a concern as we can be be a bit gung-ho at times and leave ourselves exposed.

Ultimately, it will be a similar game to their first half v Luton yesterday. One for Cook to start i reckon.

 

And yet alot of folk were saying 'we simply cant compete' with that and 'just happy to stay up'.....beaten 2 and the other are rock bottom.

Championship is where money matters. The lower leagues can be anybodies with decent recruitment.

 

After watching the first 45 , not impressed . Dour , plodding , backs to the wall defending . Their penalty area grappling at set pieces was something to behold . The ref did absolutely nothing. Maybe they had a good second half?
