Not a Bad Day Out of the Office (Mixed Results)

    Defeat for Stockport (now just 1 win in 4 games, only 2 goals scored) at AFC Wimbledon. This was Stockport's game in hand over us, and they've again failed to overtake us
    Defeat for Salford at Crawley.
    Swindon held by Gillingham.
    Barrow lost.

    Bad news is Mansfield won, so we're down to 8th, and Carlisle and Northampton won, so 3rd/4th gap increases - but I think realistically we're a play off side.

    Not bad, overall, and it's certainly not just us that are hit and miss right now - all of the play off sides are much of a muchness.

    If we can make the most of our next 3 home games, we should consolidate our position.

    We always seem to be saying if we can make the most of our next 3 games but never take advantage

    Think this will be our downfall this season... We need to get on a run but just can't see it happening

    Maybe we'll scrape the playoffs but think we will not progress .. we're just way too negative

    And just think all those doom mongers that thought the draw at Wimbledon was a result to get embarrassed about. Rochdale was the bad one , not Wimbledon nor Stockport away!

    I remember fans saying this under Bowyer when we were slipping out of the playoff picture, just need to take advantage of our next 3 games. When we got to Wembley under Stuart our two best players were Marshall and Cullen, a winger and midfielder. This season I'd say our two best were Lewis and Crichlow, a keeper and central defender. And that shows in how negative we are at times.

    Today’s results show the indifference of this division, anyone can beat anyone on the day, inconsistency is rife. Teams who have aspirations of promotion can only grind out results and it shows with the results week in week out.

    True that. I think the most we get is 6 points. 4 would be another let down.

    It wasn't so much the result at Wimbledon or Rochdale, it was more the nature of the result. Pi55 poor.

    100% agree that the Rochdale result was the bad one. The thing is that no matter how poor we were that night we had three points in the bag until the referee did what he did. Rochdale were never getting back into that game in a million years until he gave that ridiculous penalty, the issue was how we failed to react to the adversity.

    We’ve had a few shocking penalty calls this year go against us and I can’t remember any that have gone for us.

    Tell that to Stockport who lost at Wimbledon and “ lost” two points to us. Again it’s the Rochdale result.
    Poor display or not, if we play well and lose, what to we get? I’m being realistic when it’s points that count.

    Hahaha getting all giddy because results have gone our way .......... how fooking embarrassing it is that we are relying on others to prop up that shower :( we should be in the top 3 but this is what we are ...........a club whose season ticket sales comfortably beat the top 3 combined are relying on others to get us out of this league ..........it’s a shambles yet loons are happy with it

    All I can gather from today is that we are a week or two away from potentially being 14th or 15th place, back in familiar territory.

    Apparently we had a behind closed doors game against Rotherham today and lost 5-2. There doesn't seem to be any info on line ups or scorers.

    Which poster do you think I am, lol?

    I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply to me, I've been one of Rupp's major critics the entire time, and have never given Sparks a free ride.

    I also don't have a perennially positive outlook just because I'm a City fan, unlike some. I assess each season as it comes, giving my personal opinion whether it's that we're good, bad or indifferent.

    I'm offended that you felt the need to explain that to me :p
