We only get the gates we do because of cheap tickets. If prices rose to £300 we would be lucky to get 7000. A’s it is we have income based on the tickets we have sold to about a team averaging about 6500 at average prices.
We probably also have higher expenses than most in the league with stadium rent and the upkeep of what is a large ground.
As income will fall heavily this year it is obvious cut backs will be needed.

So what you are saying is that Bradford City supporters (cough cough) are NOT prepared to put their money where their mouths are.

Even a modest increase to £200 per ST would give an additional £480-500k at 15k STs. That's a good chunk of change for the player kitty

I suppose your response sums Bradford up.

    Such a shame.

The excuses just come from you. It's embarrassing.

Why would we need to cut back? The owners haven't spent anything.

Why don't the owners spend some money to drive the club forward.

Why don't thexsupporters spend some money?

We whine on and on and on and on about how we want to know what is going on, how this is our club, but we won't put our hands in our pockets for higher season ticket prices.

What about the difference between what we took in money in their first season and the budget set. Estimated loss of 1 million. last year it was £700k. This year assuming we set the same budget it will be 1.5 million. Who do you think covers that

    12k supporters not enough?

Supporters do put their hand in their pockets as you're not taking into account the extra things supporters buy to help back the club.

The owners own the club and should of know what they were getting into. If they can't afford to run the club then they need to leave. It's that simple.

Didn't the club make a profit last year according to the accounts posted at Companies House?

Ok so here’s a novel thought.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’d say we had 10k full paying adult ST holders last season paying £149. That’s almost 1.5million in revenue.
The owners have admitted there’s a 750k deficit.
So the club need ideally 2.25million in ST sales.
How about a reverse auction type sale. A bit of a gamble by the club but assuming we’d sell 5000 @ £450 (the die hards) and then the price is reduced for every 1000 additional tickets sold beyond 5000. Ie. 8000 = £281 each and 10000 = £225 each, capped at 15000 making the price £150.
Any junior tickets sold at £50 would be a bonus.

You didn't really answer the underlying question.

So let me ask it directly.

Would YOU, Fordy117, be willing to pay higher ticket prices to enable a larger player budget?

    Excellent.

Let's get a campaign going to raise ST prices and allow the club to progress.

    Edin. Are you listening!

Thats what Rochdale are trying to do to shift season tickets, doesn't really work. First and foremost the product has to sell the tickets. Your problem over time comes when you drop the price of your product it's nigh on impossible to put it back up. Fans have bought into the cheap ticket scenario. The price should really be £199 at it's cheapest and go from there. if you decide that you want to renew in the summer after seeing the club make a statement of intent then i would go to somewhere round £275, more than the cheap ticket deal but not a steep enough rise to make it unaffordable.
