Barmy. Humphrys has gone off the boil after a promising start but he is a better option up top than Lapslie 7 days of the week, twice on a Sunday.

Id rather risk Cook than play a midfielder there.

There's no argument? You suggested we play Lapslie up front, presumably on the basis he's got a few goals from midfield.

I said that idea was daft and every single person on here and in the stadium on Saturday would agree with me and there's absolutely no debate to be had about that.

 

Stick with the main , in form 3 , Sarce, Swan & Bobby and utilise initially Cookie and Hump from the bench . I’d certainly get Humps medically sorted asap then that excuse can be binned.

 

I think Lapslie would make an excellent striker, him and Bryne up front would be a right pairing - emulating Blake / Mills.

If Humphrys and Swan are unavailable that is the debate, don't read one post in isolation, we're running out of striker options, Alexander has played Powell as the lone striker and hes a midfield player, so we have no Humphrys or Swan who is your front 3.

Well Cookie can only do 30 minutes, so I suppose we could start him instead of bringing him on and fingers. crossed we can score. It has to be Powell who probably has more experience of playing up front even though he is a midfielder although I am not convinced he is good enough to start. The three players behind him Pointon, Sarce and Lapslie if Swan is unavailable. To be honest it is difficult to pick a team when we have no idea who will be available.

 

The club doesn’t launder money, Saudis do! The club helps spend it!

 

Have the two sets of fans stopped sucking each other off yet? I've no axe to grind with Newcastle, i love to visit the city for a night out but jeez it was like reacharound central yesterday

This was my post to @Kevin1954 with regards Swan not being avaliable and Humphry’s tonsils effecting him, that leaves us very short of strikers, as you say I very much doubt Alexander would consider starting Andy Cook so he has to continue with an out of sorts Humphrys or puts Laplie in the team, I fail to see what's so outrageous about putting a player who has actually scored more goals than Humphry’s be they mostly in the Caraboa Cup but what I saw on Tuesday night was a player low on confidence lacked the high press game which is very much part of our game and once again fluffed a very simple header.
Let's hope what ever kept Swan out on Wednesday night just needed rest and he's back to lead the line against Blacklool.

 

He'll start on Saturday along side Wright and Pennington, unfortunatly I believe a poor as Humphry’s has been Aexander will once again try to shoe horn him into the lone striker role if Swan isn't available.
As long as we get 3 points I'm sure no City fan will care who plays, watching a few League One prediction videos and the majority were saying Bruce won't come to give us a game but will try and park the bus frustrating us and hitting us on the break.

 

Why would we have no Humphrys? He's available, you just said he wasn't very good that's all.

He's definitely more of a forward than Lapslie and actually done very well there in his time although I do agree that he's not looking a first pick at the moment.

Compare it to Lapslies though. He's basically got almost zero experience of that role.
