The other thing to remember aside from the cost is that Richard Dunn is a listed building. There will be limits on how much it could be altered both externally and internally. This partly explains why it has been left to rot with no interested buyers.

Underfunded definitely but still either completely incompetent or simply corrupt depending or your level of naivety.

which is why they decided to demolish it and build the new one down the road at Sedburgh but then Heritage groups got it listed at the the last minute just as demolition was about to start so they are now left with it and nothing to do with it

it never has done and it only become a problem when we aint winning games ..............i remember debates on here going on about last season when we didnt start off well last season or may have been the season before and magically the convo went missing when we started picking up.

Do you really believe that players at this level are gonna care where they train is that gonna be a real deal breaker .............look at Powell im sure hes had the best of the best training set ups didnt stop him signing.

As for players who have had an issue after they have if it was such a big issue why did they sign.

I mean its not like 20 or 30 years ago when the set ups where poor and probably trying to avoid dog shit, broken glass etc.

Like i said it magically becomes an issue when we are out of form

Spot on . I may have said this before but I was responsible for two “ listed “ stations and both HAD to be modernised , yet the existing fabric had to be protected doubling the cost estimates .
Example 100’s of sq ft of chocolate brown ( yuk) floor tiles had to be protected by a rubberised protective film before new brighter floor tiles were laid on top “ just in case” someone in 2095 decided we restore the 1960 building back to the original .

A £3m refurbishment has been unveiled at an Essex railway station on its 50th anniversary.

The booking hall and footbridge have been revamped at Harlow Town station.

The work by National Express East Anglia also included extending the car park from 400 to 700 spaces and was opened by Harlow MP Robert Halfon.

Images of Harlow Town station during its history are on display in a new waiting area as part of the birthday celebrations.”

or when players leave for lower level clubs but don’t want to admit that they have been told they would be second choice etc

I don't get all this Listed and heritage nonsense. The place is falling in bits now abandoned. Who is it being saved for? Its tatty and an eyesore.

I think its the concrete structure that listed , the rest could be torn down and rebuilt so long as the concrete is left alone

As a big fan of brutalist architecture, I love the design of it - but that's a selfish opinion I admit.

It’s because it’s seen as an innovative piece of 60s/70s architecture and therefore should be preserved for the nation. But what’s the point if there’s no budget to refurb or even maintain it and it’s just going to fall into delapidation?

Many buildings from that era were built with shoddy materials and soon fell into disrepair. The modern blocks around Forster Square, now demolished, being an example.

I well remember in my home town of Grays, in Essex, in the mid 60s they pulled down an entire street of historic 16th C clapperboard fisherman’s cottages and a gorgeous old coaching inn because they were old fashioned (!!!). They replaced them with two rows of faceless early 70s prefabricated concrete rabbit hutch houses. They pulled them all down again in the late 80s because they were falling apart.

Its like Cook when he isnt scoring, he is obese and out of breath.......

Its a very nice idea and would be beneficial - but it isnt a neccesity and our current set up isnt really a problem.

That said you do hear of players who are 'shown around' before deciding on their next club and can only feel a top training facility would help things over the line.....£££ first mind!

Although this looks very spic and span, there are some issues. I dont think City or any other user needs a running track.

As has been commented, a large amount of that ‘hypothetical’ football pitch covers the existing cricket ground, and allotments. If the council own them, then they could possibly be included, but othewise it is a significant loss of external space.

I'm pretty sure he's not forwarding them as plans, it was a 5 minute mock up job for a laugh.

Some of the land where the car park entrance could possibly be turned into further training areas, if the access to the car park was moved. This none public entrance to the site is the the south west of the Centre.

Even though Bradford Council is responsible for Sunny Bank Road Allotments, this is a statutory allotment, which means it has significant legal protections. Should the Council wish to close the allotment it would have to go through a formal consultation process involving the National Allotment Society. Closure would require approval from the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government. Even if approval is given the Council might be forced to provide an equivalent allotment site nearby.
Sunnybank is a lovely allotment site. I have judged allotments there, and it is very well kept and maintained. Very small chance of approval for closure in my view.

It's only there because someone mentioned it could be multi-use to save costs.

and it's only an AI representation. I can take a different angle if you like and move the training pitch so the cricket ground lives.

Played on that pitch a few times going back a few years. Good times.
