The problem will be that we're too light in midfield with that system. There's literally not one of them that can put in a tackle.

I'd retain the 4 4 2, with Devine looking the best of the 3 (Akpan and Anderson) Partnering Palmer and then Wood, Cooke, Scannell and Devitt would fight it out for the wider spots.

If then we feel we need to strengthen midfield further in certain games, Devitt could play behind a lone striker.

Actually, according to that info piece that someone posted on the Callum Cooke thread, he is pretty decent in the tackle.
I accept that it leaves us light defensively in midfield. But at home I could see it working because we'd have so much possession, chance creation and scoring potential that I'd back us to out-score most teams in L2 with that lineup.

 

The way I read it he has his old number and uses that one. The number is linked to the player I believe so when a player returns they use their already existing number.

It also suggested he only likes to operate going forwards. I hope he can tackle and has a genuine work ethic though because we'll definitely need it.

Regarding the chance creation and out scoring teams, I imagine Manchester City could do that but yet their most important midfielder over the last few seasons has been Fernandinho. That suggests control in midfield is just as, if not more important, than attacking intent.

Two good signings recently but I wouldn't want us to change a winning side. Stick with 4-4-2 tomorrow and ease Cooke & Devitt in. On paper though, two impressive captures that definitely seal a top 3 finish, maybe even the title.
