New Signing Confirmed - Jamie Devitt

I think we'll play 433, with Devitt right, Palmer central (probably deeper) and Cooke left. Scannell, Vaughan and Donaldson up front.

 

What number are we upto now?

 

Now think with our signings we will got 4-5-1, with it becoming 4-3-3 when we attack.

Midfield of Palmer and Cooke. With Devitt in front.
Scannell on the right and Donaldson left but more focused on joining Vaughan up top.

Then wood/Longridge as a more attacking LB

 

I have to have a little smile if we'd had a midfield three of Devitt, Cooke and Palmer back in Rahics day there would be melt down, "our midfield all f*****g loans" .

 

Good signing this. We will be an attacking force this season. I have us down to score 80 plus goals if we can keep all fit for the majority. With another striker to come in too.

 

But it's mainly because of Rahic that we're in the position of having to rely on loans. If we could have offloaded more of the dross that Edin brought in then I'm sure we'd have had all three here on permanent contracts rather than loans.

 

With these two they are effectively signings as the club wanted both of them out as opposed to players regaining fitness or youth players out to prove themselves. I expect at Christmas they will become permanent

Good signing, happy with that. Should provide us with the goals and assists which we don't have currently in midfield and send akpan and Anderson further down the pecking order.

 

Really pleased with this signing, going by his record at Carlisle recently in this league. I have a feeling he will do really well here

 

I know exactly where you are coming from but these are the right type of loans for me.

We have a good chance of signing all 3 come next summer

Compared to before where we were training up other clubs youngsters and getting players who we had no chance of getting in at the end of the season

 

So true and probably why there has been the consistent message it will take 2 to 3 transfer windows to truly get back to where we want to be

 

Yes Burke, Cullen & Evans were quality and played well in the system they were brought in to play, let's hope the same can be said with regards Palmer, Devitt & Cooke.
I agree with @Damo if they perform I think they could come onboard as perminant signings and an early Christmas box.

 

I honestly think that's what we're going for. With those three in midfield we should a) keep the ball a lot of the time, b) create lots of chances for the forwards and c) score goals from midfield.
Yes, we'd look defensively light in midfield but few teams would outscore us and our defence has already shown it can keep clean sheets with very little protection from midfield.

 

Agree it was only a bit of banter, just heard about Devitt the grandson text me, having a week in the sun so I'll be relying on BT and any other sause to keep me up to date with tommorows result .
