Those saying Taylor is poor are gratuitously casting aspersions on a manager who so far has made many good signings. Bowyer knows the player well. That’s good enough for me.

Nope, I'm saying he's not automatically a good signing because Bowyer has so far done well in the market as the poster suggested.

I've no idea if he's any good or not and I'm more than happy to wait and see.

 

Maybe, but it also provides a bit of competition for Akpan as well which can only be a good thing. He's played well the past couple of games and long may that continue, but we all know how many games he played last year where he looked like he couldn't be bothered. If Taylor sitting on the bench chomping at the bit to take his place means Akpan keeps performing like he has the last two games, it will be a great signing.

 

He was also on trial at non league Barrow recently who decided not to sign him.

I think it is reasonable to suggest Bowyer knows Taylor better than he knew Anderson. It makes no sense to condemn a player before he’s played for our club especially as we can lay him off in January if he’s no good. I agree Anderson is not a good re-signing but I suspect he’s not on big wages and Bowyer took a punt on him.

 

Sorry good points. I do have an over tendency to go on the defensive

 

All fans I speak to these says are agreed that by and large Bowyer’s signings have been good value for money. I particularly like the fact he went for a big left-footed centre back and also brought in some much needed pace. Two goal-scoring performances from Akpan have not caused me to greatly change my mind about this player but I am very happy to be proved wrong. I’ve also been impressed with Bowyer’s recent substitutions. Things are so much better than at this time last year. We need to be cautiously optimistic however because there is a long way to go and unforeseen injuries can mar a season.

 

I haven't condemned anyone. The only thing I suggested is that he was probably a cheap signing brought in to boost numbers.
