Good move all around this. Hornby not getting a look in here due to the form of O'Donnell. Bowyer must trust GSK as back up.
Hornby definetely needs first team action now at his age.

Od Has stepped up two gears so far Possible with the help of the new keeper coach. I am sure Hornby was brought in to play if Od had carried on the way he finished last season

 

Fully agree with this, everyone wins with this deal with the only minor risk being if O'Donnell gets sent off or injured during a match then GSK will have to play the rest of the match. Hornby is in a similar McLaughlin in that he's getting towards his mid 20's with very little regular minutes behind him which is what all players especially goalkeepers need to develop. With this move he'll get 3 months of football week in week out and sounds like he'll be quite busy. Also should hopefully make GSK step it up even more knowing he could be called up at any moment and also get to be in and around the squad on a matchday where even if he isn't playing will learn bits from the more experienced players.
Could also be looking ahead to next year and if we weren't to be promoted then we might let O'Donnell go to free some wages and go with Horny and GSK as the 2 keepers next year.

Hornby debuted for Fylde this evening, conceding three as they lost 3-1 to second bottom Chesterfield.

I think if he wanted some action, he's going to get it for sure.
