You worded your post that it was down to O'Donnell though. If he's under contract it'll be down to the club as I can't see many clubs wanting to pay a fee for his services.

I wonder if he realises Hornby is THIRD choice?bantamdave41 likes this. -
In fairness, doesn't necessarily mean he's third choice now. Could be good experience for GSK on the bench and Hornby gets much needed game time. It's a short term loan so can get him back if there are any injuries and may get some cash in also

First choice keeper? Or ROD still number 1?

“At 24 years old, he is at a good age to really progress his career.
“I was encouraged when he said he would not come in to be a number-two. He is ready to play games.” -
Might end up splitting the GK duties similar to how we did with duke and mcloughlin. Whether thats a good thing or not, im not sure, but if he is of similar ability (cant say ive heard of him personally) im all for a bit of competition.
Edit: just seen on wiki that he didnt play a league game for port vale last season so im guessing he is a cheap number 2, wonder if GSK isnt progressing as well as expected -

You can tell by offering Anderson and the likes contracts.
I don't mind this signing though.
Unless ROD leaves then we can't really sign a out and our number 1. So this new signing should give him competition.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Even if not number one, if O’Donnell gets that nod, it’s good to have a solid number 2 for a change. Makes a change from sattlemair etc.

Port Vale finished 20th in League Two last season, if we are signing their backup keeper as our first choice then I'd be seriously worried. -
I bet there isn't many in the football league.
OD is awful. hopeless. I'm confident this Hornby lad will be better than him. -

Vale seem to have an irreplaceable keeper but their fans say he is a good keeper so a promising signing at a good age
