New Kits 2024/25

it’s not just any football shirt ….. it’s a retro thingymajig.

 

I quite liked it first time round.

 

IF they are still going retro, I’d guess at one of these.

 

It's the thing right now to be offended by something and react negatively-when that something is actually nothing at all.

Why didn't we have this negativity in the 1980's towards shirt etc? Well we didn't.

 

It’s alright - not worth the hype but not worth the moaning either… without the v-neck or a collar it’s not quite retro - but, we’ve had worse!

 

And yet you and others on here and all over social media have been talking about it all week. I have worked in sales and marketing all my working life and there is no bad publicity

As for the shirt itself not keen but I do think white seems to bring success although I don’t know whether there is any science behind it

Such an outdated quote that Park. “No bad publicity” worked before social media. These days, aka modern life, people can share and comment on news items. Both positive and negative. But mostly negative. Ask Pip Schofield and Huw Edwards how publicity went for them.

 

The kit will appeal to a certain age group, liked by some and loathed by others.
The club are in a no win situation as anyone of us choosing a kit, will not please everyone.
Let’s take it as it is and hope the results on the pitch make the kit memorable for the right reasons..

 

At the time I was in my early 20s and i still hated the gold and black away shirt we had in 2012/13. Thought it was absolutely awful. But thinking back on Villa, Burton etc I don't think of the kit in the slightest, regardless of how awful it was on the eye!

Australia is full of over sensitive, self opiniated 20 - 40 year old drama queens. My Yorkshire background and straight talking helps make things a bit clearer for them.

You need to leave the 1990s and join the digital age. That no bad publicity is a falacy. You must have been asleep and missed the cancel culture we find ourselves in.

That said its just a football shirt. The hype wasnt worth it IMO but as for the shirt, I never buy them anyway but certainly wont be buying this one. If it was true retro (appreciate sponsor will always be there) then id consider.

 

Schofield, Prince Andrew, Weinstein etc....i dont think their publicity did them any favours!!!
