Yes we have. But those times are a minority. Over the past four decades our identity has grown to become predominantly claret and amber, usually stripes. It's what we're known by in the football world. It's what we wore in the PL (albeit an awful version), in the Beagrie, Mills, Blake promotion season, in hoop form at the Capital One Cup Final and in our only recent times MotD appearance against Chelsea.

I actually suspect the likely white kit will be nice, but I'd still rather we didn't have a white kit as our home kit. Nothing to do with Leeds wearing white. You don't see Man U or Liverpool drop red for white in their home kit, nor Spurs or Leeds swap white for blue. I don't think we should abandon our trademark shirt colours just for marketing purposes or to please a few 80s nostalgists.

Its for one season and the kit will have claret and amber in it. We are in the doldrums of L2. F&&k what the football world knows us as!!!

All this fuss over a kit lol. The club are trying something different, it will make a good change and allow the stripes to return next season.

I think it would be good to have a change so a predominately white shirt with claret and amber trimmings would reflect the new regime at the club with a nod to the past

What counts is our identity to us!
You probably have to be in your mid forties to actually remember City playing in white.
Leeds actually use to play in blue and white stripes and then half and half, blue and yellow shirts. However they have found their identity in around 1960 and apart from small amounts of blue and yellow have played in white shirts/shorts since then. Fair play to them, they have been consistent. No one harping back to playing in yellow/blue half shirts. Like them or loathe them, they have their identity.
It’s the same with Huddersfield. A few veering away from the blue and white stripes to solid blue shirts over their existence, but dyed in the wool consistency, especially with the colours.
I am not bothered if it is only for one game, in my view City are Claret and Amber and in particular with stripes.

Its part of our tradition. WhIte worked in 81 and 85 so I get what Sparks is trying to do. Its not like we are dropping our club colours, we will always be claret and amber but the colour white has appeared in various home kits and away kits over the years. Its not like we are changing to red or purple.

Claret, amber, white and black are the four colours I associate with our club. Claret and amber will still be involved in the kit you would think. Shorts, trims etc.

I'd love it if when launched it would be modelled by whoever is the missing piece of the jigsaw. Even better if it were to be a marque signing!

Mick Bates has passed today, aged 73. Made 56 appearences. Club havent released anything. This may delay the kit launch....doesnt seem right.

    Sad news. Thanks for sharing

Delaying unless to tomorrow will be tricky with the friendly tomorrow evening unless they play in an old kit?
