I think plain sleeves claret or amber would have looked better.

 

The solid back panel is an EFL recommendation / requirement
Rule 34.14 adds: "When playing in a match each player shall wear a shirt on the back of which shall be prominently displayed his shirt number and above that his name. so as to be clearly visible (and contrast with any design or pattern on the shirt) in accordance with guidelines laid down by the league from time to time."
In a couple of seasons when City are in Europe, it's a uefa mandatory.

Unpopular opinion but I liked the chequered kit. Looked great with claret shorts and socks.

Decent side that year too.

Like the short sleeved shirt- normally prefer more amber kits and thick stripes but also like the club messing around with the design tbh. Long sleeved shirt makes me feel like I’ve taken drugs.

It beats any hooped or blocked shirts for me. Ultimately it isn’t a big deal either way, it’ll be remembered for how our season goes.

 

I know it isn't popular but my son bought it, liked it and wears it occasionally. I don't mind it to be honest I like the new home kit, short sleeves, too.

True, but numbers have to be clearly visible, and with stripes or hoops that's not easy.
