I think it was you who alluded to the fact unless Stefan wants to sell its all immaterial and that pretty much sums it up.Unless someone meets his demands its as you were. With the new salary cap implications he's under no pressure to sell.

 

Could be a level of comfort? Rupp might be looking at the club not losing money this year so can hold out for an unrealistic figure to sell and Julian is surely earning a decent figure-maybe he’s happy to keep taking that?

I don't know who he is or what he does, but his name seems to get mentioned regularly.

I asked a friend to ask Rhodes directly today. So either Rhodes told my friend a porky to throw us off the scent, or there is genuinely nothing in it.

 

Rhodes was hardly going to confirm it though was he? You'd expect him to deny it whether it was true or not.

 

I believe he writes for the Sun. I think his last rumour concerning us was about the young Palace striker supposedly joining us, a rumour McCall was quick to deny

Reminds me of the fun and games on Twitter every time UFC Champion Jon Jones did something dumb - @jonjones was the tag everyone seemed to use (including media), except it was just some random guy who didn't even like MMA

 

I’m sure Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers had great intentions, but my point is that they way it was handled in the press and public was embarrassing, especially as it seemed so obvious that it wouldn’t get past the Premier League hierarchy. Also very amusing to watch how the staunch socialists running the local council in Newcastle were so desperate for these capitalists to take over their club. Just shows how these staunch socialist values go out of the window when it suits. When I took the piss out of one of my pals who’s a Corbyn lover his response was “it’s different when it comes to football”. Ok then.

As somebody else suggested, when something sounds too good to be true it usually is.

The fact that significant takeovers / appointments usually happen with very little notice made me think that this wouldn’t happen. Things get leaked to the press to apply pressure (which happened daily with the Newcastle takeover), but rarely when it becomes public does it then go through.

 

Good tell Idle Bantam. TBH I get so dispirited sometimes by people's lack of understanding about what Simon Parker does as a journalist. As a writer, and former journalist myself, I know the fine line you have to walk in terms of keeping channels open with your contacts and then challenging/confronting them when issues arise. It really is a tough day to day job and often requires a much more subtle softly softly approach to keep your contacts on board, so you can continue to mine info for the tougher questions and situations. For me, I think Simon Parker has been doing a great job for a lot of years. He's not in the pocket of Bradford City Football Club, sometimes comes up with scoops. sometimes gets beaten to them. But overall for me, he's a trusted and trusty deliverer of the truth. He cares about our club a lot - but he's also not afraid to ask questions, when push comes to shove. Don't shoot the messenger!
