I know this has been discussed many times and I know that the section of MR is closed to traffic behind the stand from the junction of the Kop but isn’t it time they closed the road from Queens Road side to prevent cars trying to drive through thousands of fans.
It’s fine to have one way traffic towards Queens Road to allow cars to get out that have parked on MR but surely they should block access to cars coming the other way?
Who do we write to to suggest this ?

Good observation but so do the roads around most stadiums in the country and the majority of them are closed directly after the final whistle until crowds have dispersed.
Take it you didn’t go to Birmingham? Roads were closed for up to 1 hour.
I’m not suggesting closing the road completely but just to cars trying to drive against the flow.
    The pavements aren’t wide enough

Tbh I get picked up now, although used to park on Valley Road. There is often plenty of room on the pavements, if there is room you shouldn’t be on the road simple as that. I’m not against closing roads around the stadium, but when I know cars can drive down it I’m not going to walk in the road, especially with a child.

Proper jobs worth who came up with that name
Don't hold your breathe though, i have had dealings with them

The club would have to put a request in and then pay for it each time including the closing etc and manning it. So I'm guessing the people to write to would be the club.

The issue I could see with closing the whole road would be the access for those that live on there.

Exactly how wide do you want the pavements? They look pretty standard to me when I'm walking along them.

I would add to that cars parked on ML on double yellows to go and get their hair cut.

After watching the scenes in Liverpool yesterday, does anyone think leaving Midland Road open to traffic after our home games is acceptable?
I’m fed up of seeing cars trying to drive against the flow of fans immediately after the game.
Only a matter of time before there’s a serious incident.

A few years ago a car sped on the pavement after the game with people jumping out the way and it was a miracle nobody was injured. And there have been other instances to. Closing midland road from 3pm to 6pm would make things safer for fans

I'd imagine what happened yesterday will form a lot of safety meetings over the summer with the safety advisory groups, the problem of road closures like this is it will come down to who pays for it and how you get it passed when there will be objections from local residents and businesses as the only way to stop traffic is to stop all of the parking for fans and residents have to move their cars before the closure if they want to go anywhere during the closure.
If it was 1 long road it might be easier but with it having so many side roads leading onto it so it requires a lot of closures to close 1 road.

The pinch point is always after the match. I'd say to close it for 30 mins when each match is due to end. If you park there you do so knowing you're not leaving for 30 mins unless you leave the game early. If you live there, or have a business there, then it's a 30 mins inconvenience 23 times (plus cup games) a year. Not ideal but hardly the end of the world. Safety first after what happened last night.

Yet as soon as people turn right after Midland Road towards Canal Road or either way onto Ham Strasse, the ability to walk on pavements seems to return. People also seem to manage sticking to pavements while walking down Manningham Lane after the game.

Everyone keeps moving while leaving the MR stand without the need for a 10 metre wide concourse so I reckon it's possible for everyone to use the pavements to get a few hundred yards away from the ground and allow all the traffic to do the same.

At the end of the day, if you're in a mad rush after a game, like I am to work a night shift sometimes, leave early and if you want to stay until the end just accept that you'll need to be patient with the number of people attending. It's that easy!

No it just needs to be closed from 15 mins before the scheduled end of the game until 30 mins after final whistle.
Like someone said, if you’re parked on there you accept you’ll have to wait.
If you live on there then you’ve made a decision to live next to a football stadium and should accept minor disruption

Some people seem to deliberately drive on Midland Rd against the flow after the match, I can't believe that people genuinely do not know the football is on.

A lot of these are people picking up family or friends who have been to the match too, seen it often.

Unless mobility issues, why would you do that?
