seems he’s fallen into the category of being a player whose ability and skill have grown because of his long injury lay off. One of those whose aura grew because he wasn’t playing.

In reality he’s a poor centre half who would have been found out last season if he hadn’t been injured.

Australia must have a really poor national team if he’s anywhere near the squad. Much more Jason gavin than Andrew Davies.

In fact, I can honestly say I’d rather have Matthew Bates in the team than him.

You could have amended your original comment and added this in. Only kidding. I think his confidence is a bit shot. Centre backs compliment each other. Opposites attract. I think the lack of pace of any them plus knowing their partner is slow, means they end up Jockeying them as they are frightened of getting done

To be fair to him it's not an ideal situation to come back into after a long lay-off. Probably a good player in a good team, we're seeing neither.

Some say when he came back from injury it would be like a new signing but never expanded on their simplistic comment.

    What you reckon @Park bantam@Park bantam ?

Him and O’Connor have been woeful this season. They way they are harassed and bullied by opposition forwards is pathetic.

Everyone of our centre halves has a mistake in them, guaranteed every game. The biggest problem in this being, the fact the other two know this, and darent leave the third to deal with the ball meaning two or even all three get drawn to the ball so we then end up with indecision over who is dealing with it. Its farcical, and as for the habits of letting the ball or showing strikers into the box, its basic stuff.
Its sounds ridiculous, but we have just played to games where we would have got something probably 4 points, were it not for conceding five goals from stupid, elementary mistakes. All so easily avoided

Wish we had signed Lyle Taylor instead of Poleon last summer

MCGowan looked like a good player last year. I was certainly not the only one who thought he would be like a new signi g

All three centre backs are good players individually. I'm just hoping their lack of form is due to them playing in an unfamiliar system which will take some getting used to.

O'Connor for example was outstanding against Shrewsbury in what became a back 4 that day. He hasn't become a bad player overnight, he just looks unfit like the rest of them and needs more practice playing in a totally different system which employs completely different roles and responsibility.

Same problem we saw from day one.

We signed a whole new defence in the last 12 months, and have largely played three centre backs.

You would think, if anyone at the club had the first clue what they were doing (Rahic or Abbott) that the new defenders would have played that system most of their careers and were familiar with it.

But, as we know full well, the morons signed players without any idea what system or formation we would play.

We're actually paying them to learn at great expense to our teams performance.

    Embarrassing.
