So was Edin the cause of us getting to Wembley in the first season?

Maybe its time Stuart changed his right hand man and went with someone else? I do believe Stuart could be a great manager but I just wonder whether his loyalty to KB could be ultimately holding him back?

I'm not sure I follow... he did a good job at Motherwell with KB, and a good job at City with KB - why would he need to change?

Personally, always thought Stuart would be a far better assistant or a coach, out on the training field with the lads, rather than the other managerial stuff.

"Stuart McCall doesn't know how to turn around a bad run of form"

that'll be why they've won their last two, including away at promotion chasing Peterborough.

Don't say anything positive about McCall. First of all after his many positive contributions to the club over the years he doesn't deserve it and you will prod some of the message boards more tedious posters into life!

Good luck to him, hope he turns it around as long as it's not at our expense.

Just signed Byron Webster from Millwall on a free. Seems like the Scunthorpe board are backing him in January, the complete opposite to the last time McCall was dealing with the January transfer window.

well would you look at that...Stuart McCall doesn't know how to turn around a slump. that's his short coming as a manager. thats why his Scunthorpe team have just won their last three games, and have jumped upto 17th in the table.

it's not like Park Bantam and banbrotam to back the wrong horse thoug......oh wait..

No mention of Stuart’s manager of the month award? Well isn’t that a surprise. No one got anything to say now about what a poor manager he is, can’t turn around a bad run of form, and is tactically inept?

    Shocking.

Well done Stuart, keep proving the numptys wrong!!

I didn’t think anyone said he was a bad manager? I thought the general theme of comments was that he has a set way of approaching games and generally has no Plan B. I think that is a fair assessment of him as a manager.

It looks like given time he's found out how to get a team low on confidence and lacking several of Scunthorpe's better players performing as he wants them to, marvelous what a little patience and new faces can do for a manager ;).

Is that because he came in and tried to implement his desired style of play on players not suited to it? Now he has better suited players (after January transfers) and it’s going better?

The test will be in 12 months time if results are still going well or if things get tough can he sort it out.

I wouldn't think so @alex@alex, we were still in or around the top 6 when Edin sacked Stuart, and the players at his disposal that season were a weaker squad that the season before when he took us to the play off final I would suggest.

Don’t think so, their results had turned for the better before he brought new signings in. They have just helped.

Rocking a bit is Stu at the moment. He's certainly let us down lately with defeats to Gillingham, Oxford, and now Bristol rovers. From everyone saying he's got Scunthorpe safe they are now back right in it just 2 points clear. Going to be a tense finish for the bottom 10 teams.
